A Comparative Study Of Historical Materials In "Later Han Dynasty" And "Lao Han Shu"

This paper compares the historical materials of Hou Han Ji and Hou Han Shu from three aspects: source,compilation and content,and points out that the historical materials of the two books have homology.The differences between the historical materials of the two books are discussed in detail,including source differences in historical materials,compilation differences,and content differences.Staring with the level of detail and different texts,the content differences of historical materials are investigated and a large number of facts are enumerated and analyzed in detail.In the end,three causes of these differences are explored.Through comparative analysis and inductive argumentation,this paper reveals the significance and value of the comparison of historical materials in the Hou Han Ji and Hou Han Shu.First,we gained a deeper understanding of the technical process of adaptation of historical materials of Yuan Hong and Fan Ye,realizing the influence of Yuan Hong and Fan Yi’s historical concepts on their compilation of historical materials.Second,the historical materials of Hou Han Ji and Hou Han Shu can complement each other.The historical materials of Hou Han Ji and Hou Han Shu vary in degree of detail.These detailed and different historical materials can complement each other and provide circumstantial evidence for the study of historical studies and historical literature.First,Hou Han Shu can be used to learn of the missing text of Hou Han Ji.Second,it is possible to use the Hou Han Ji to correct the mistakes and supplement the imperfections of Hou Han Shu.Third,comparing the Hou Han Ji to citations of Hou Han Shu annotated by Li Xian,we can find the source historical materials or homologous historical materials of the Hou Han Ji,correct the document fallacy,and understand the characteristics of the ancient citations.Third,the historical materials of Hou Han Ji and Hou Han Shu can be collated with each other.There are a large number of different texts in the Hou Han Ji and Hou Han Shu,which have important value in the research of two books and the study of historical facts.The classification and collation of these different documents can facilitate the further reading of these two historical books,and can also provide reference for the revision of Hou Han Shu by the Zhonghua Book Company.Fourth,the historical materials of Hou Han Ji and Hou Han Shu can be explained to each other.A large number of different texts obtained in the comparison of the historical materials of Hou Han Ji and Hou Han Shu can be used to interpret the word sense of the two books,to understand the ancient words,to understand the grammar rules and to correctly understand the meaning of the text,and to serve as corpus of large-scale dictionaries and Chinese history research.
