The prosperity of horse culture in Tang Dynasty not only led to the revival of the h horse-physiognomy,but also promoted the prosperity of horse poems and horse paintings,creating exquisite poetic images and picture images.There is a close relation among horse-physiognomy,horse painting and Tang poetry.This paper attempts to reveal the trilateral relationship of the three.On the one hand,this paper analyzes the source and embodiment of horse-physiognomy in the knowledge field of the poets.Then,will discuss the appearance and poetical significance of horse-physiognomy in Tang poetry,and the changes of writing skills and aesthetics of pome,from The Book of Songs to Tang poetry,and the relationship between them.On the other hand,this paper analyzes the relationship between horse painting and horse riding in Tang Dynasty,on this basis,discusses the artistic style of the poems for house paintings in Tang Dynasty,the poetics and painting significance of introducing horse-judging knowledge into painting,and discusses the painting elements contained in horse images.In addition,combining with the knowledge of horse-judging,this paper will make a case analysis of Du Fu and Li He's verses.The introduction of this paper explains the reasons and research ideas of the topic,the related concepts of horse-physiognomy,and the literature review.The text is divided into six chapters.The first chapter,is about the horse-physiognomy in the knowledge field of the poets.The prosperity of horse breeding industry in Tang Dynasty and the extensive demand for horses at all levels boomed the prosperity of horse judging.Not only the scale of the work is larger than before,but also the theoretical level has a new development.In Tang Dynasty,scholars could not only get in touch with the practice of judging horses in daily life,but also read the inherited and contemporary texts on judging-horses,as well as the summary of the compilation and selection of materials such as class books.The Fu,before Tang Dynasty,has already introduced the knowledge of horse-physiognomy into literature.These application and their wide spread are of enlightening significance to poets in Tang Dynasty.Chapter two discusses the art of the horse painting and the relationship between horse painting and horse-physiognomy.The description of painters and paintings in the painting history books reflect the popularity of the horse painting in Tang Dynasty.The poems and notes of the literati record some horse painting activities,presenting a colorful horse painting world.Through these two,we can see the artistic style of horse painting in Tang Dynasty.There are similarities between horse judging and horse painting,but through the investigation of painting historical materials and artistic rules,it can be speculated that the horse painters and horse painting in the Tang Dynasty have not been able to consciously absorb the art of horse painting.However,the theorist have begun to use the professional to compare the horse painter,which means the combination of horse painting and horse-physiognomy,gradually close.Chapter three discusses the embodiment of horse-physiognomy in Tang poetry and its enrichment to Tang poetry.Poets have use the horse-physiognomy,in a number of articles,to describe horses.The introduction of horse-judging knowledge,has enriched the writing skills of horse pomes,both help to create a magnificent and elegant swift horse image,also reflects the double mentality of poets with good horse since dual psychological,acting the bole,deepen the theme.Vertically,from the Book of Songs to Tang poetry,the techniques and aesthetic meaning of ode to horses have changed to some extent.The fourth chapter,on the Tang Dynasty horse painting poems of the meaning and significance of painting.In the Tang Dynasty,the poems on horse painting have an important role in shaping the image of horse painting,and in broadening the painting environment and the psychological resonance of the teachers of Tang Dynasty.The swift horse image and the sick image of old horse,thin horse and frail horse in Tang poetry,can be understood by combining with the good horse,old horse and poor horse in Zhouyi.Accordingly,some morbid images in Tang poetry often have a positive spirit,not all of them are down and out.In the shaping of horse image,the poets in the Tang Dynasty can often reflect the consciousness,perspective and vision of painting,as well as the painting techniques such as copying the shape and color,choosing to convey the spirit and operating the position,or coincides with painting art.The poet not only absorbed the experience of judging horses,but also absorbed the elements of painting,and then created the unique horse image in Tang Dynasty.The sixth chapter,combining with the horse-physiognomy knowledge and related culture,explains some poems of Du Fu and Li He.First,explore the the implication of Du Fu's verse,"Han Gan only paint muscle but not skeleton of horse,endure to make HuaLiu' verve fading".Based on Du Fu's perspective of horse-physiognomy,this paper analyzes the meaning of muscle and skeleton,Du Fu's attitude towards fatness and thinness of horse,and the image and spirit of Han Gan's paintings,and Du Fu's inconsistent attitudes towards Han Gan's horse painting.Second,on the use of scripture,the meaning and reason of Du Fu's verse,"the speeding iron horse always sweating ".Centering on the culture of auspicious and calamities related to horse,this paper makes a misinterpretation of the doctrine of "stone horse assisting in the war"and "well dragon change into iron horse",and explains the origin of the word "iron horse",the meaning and the reasons in du's poems.Thirdly,on the elements of horse-judging and their combination and application in Li He's poems on horses.Nearly half of his production has a view of judging horses.From this perspective,we can deeply understand the image of the swift horse and the mentality of the poet.These poems are mainly about whether the horse was discovered and whether it could be used.Via this,we can Li He how to express himself in horse poems.
