A Study On The Performing Art Of Acrobatics In Tang Dynasty

After thousands of years of changes in the pre—Qin,Han,Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties,and to the Tang Dynasty,the acrobatics moved from differentiation to prosperity,and the content of the performances continued to expand.However,as a kind of vulgar style of literature and art,the relevant materials are not systematically compiled and combed,but scattered in the two Tang books,“all Tang poetry”,“all Tang Wen”,Dunhuang documents,all kinds of note-taking novels,as well as Dunhuang murals,tomb music figurines and other cultural relics,these scattered historical materials are an important historical evidence of the development of the acrobatics in the Tang Dynasty.Therefore,through the systematic combing and integration of scattered literature and cultural relics,it is the focus of this paper to restore the overall situation of the performance of the acrobatics in the Tang Dynasty.The Tang Dynasty was an important period for the rapid development of the acrobatics,which reached their peak under the interaction of multiple external forces and internal causes.This paper first discusses the external factors of the prosperity of the acrobatics in the Tang Dynasty.The prosperity of the acrobatics in the Tang Dynasty is not“suddenly like the spring breeze of one night”,which is greatly benefited from the process of reproduction and accumulation from the pre—Qin Dynasty to the Sui Dynasty.The political,economic and foreign cultural exchanges in the Tang Dynasty also contributed to the development of the acrobatics.These three factors seem to be cliche,empty and broad,but they are not.Compared with the Tang Dynasty,the social background of the Tang Dynasty had very different characteristics of the times under many commonalities.The strong administrative intervention of the rulers,the collapse of the market system led to the rise of the commodity economy,frequent external exchanges—Western region music into China,and so on,all had a real impact on the development of acrobatics and pushed it forward and approached.Then,by combining the cultural relics with the literature to confirm each other,nearly 100 pieces of tomb cultural relics(figurines or murals)involving the contents of the acrobatics in the Tang Dynasty were collected and classified into four types,including song and dance operas,music and dance,magic acrobatics and so on.The cultural relics of the acrobatics have vividly restored the vivid scenes of the acrobatics performances in Tang Dynasty,such as“tayaoniang”,“canjun”drama,music—accompanied dance acrobatics and so on,so that we have a more intuitive feeling and understanding of the performance form of the acrobatics in Tang Dynasty,and so many cultural relics of the acrobatics have also confirmed the prosperity of the acrobatics performances in Tang Dynasty.important historical evidence of the development of the Tang Dynasty.After explaining clearly the social environment and performance types of the acrobatics in the Tang Dynasty,this paper analyzes the ecology of the acrobatics in the Tang Dynasty from the perspective of the management organization,folklore,religion and the relationship between the performances.As the mainstay of the Tang Dynasty's recreation activities,there is still a very complicated internal construction,except for the influence of the external environment.The intervention of the official forces brought the play into the jurisdiction of the functional departments,which provided the guidance of relative system norms and provided the mechanism guarantee for the development of the play.Marriage and funeral,birthday festival,worship of the gods,religious sacrifice and so on in the view of folk custom are deeply and extensively intertwined with the acrobatics.These long-standing secular activities jointly construct the basic ecology of the survival and development of the acrobatics in the Tang Dynasty.The multi —prosperous performance space of the Tang Dynasty and the production and consumption of the acrobatics also have an important influence on the art of the acrobatics,and also reflect the development track of the acrobatics in the Tang Dynasty moving from“aristocratic” to “civilian”.In a word,all the above elements are important links to outline the whole development of the acrobatics in the Tang Dynasty in series.This paper attempts to analyze the relevant materials from many angles,in order to explore the reasons for the prosperity of the acrobatics in the Tang Dynasty and clarify its development context.
