Chen Mengjia(1911.4-1966.9)was a famous modern paleography scholar,historian and poet.Among the many branches of Chinese paleography,Chen Mengjia left a number of academic works with great value,especially the "Yinxu Buci Zongshu" which is the most systematic and comprehensive.This magnum opus give its own opinions on the basis of fully summarizing the academic achievements of predecessors,and also fully digested the oracle bone materials avalicable at that time."Yinxu Buci Zongshu" basically constructing the framework of oracle bone subject,representing the top level and final achievements of the studies of the oracle bone inscriptions by Chen Meng Jia.This dissertation,mainly focusing on the "Yinxu Buci Zongshu" and other oracle bone or historical archeology treatises written by Chen Mengjia,proceeding from some key issues of oracle bone subject to comb out the changes of Chen Mengjia’s academic point of view.Compare "Yinxu Buci Zongshu" with treatises written before,after,and at the same time,we discuss the origin,achievement and influence of Chen Mengjia’s viewpoint under the perspective of academic history.Combine with the historical materials such as letters,diaries,memoirs form Chen Mengjia’s relatives,collragues and friends,we reconstruct the academic environment Chen Mengjia was in,and the oracle bone research career of Chen Mengjia.Six parts as follows:Part one: Foreword,define the research scope of this paper;Introduce the current research status of Chen Mengjia’s oracle bone study,explain the significance,position,method and limitation of this study.Part two: the academic career study.To explore the transformation of Chen Mengjia’s identity from poet to scholar.Explain several changes of research direction and insterest in the course of Chen Mengjia’s oracle bone study.Relevant historical materials,piecing together Chen Mengjia as an oracle bone scholar.Part three: thematic research.This section includes chapters 2 to 7 of the thesis.To choose the oracle bone characters decipherment,dating,sacrifice,religion,geography,official system,lineage,inheritance,appellation,memorial tablet group which are more representative in the oracle bone study and the history of the Shang Dynasty,inspecting the change of Chen Mengjia’s opinions on these issues and the mutual influence of his opinions.Combined with theories and related treatises,this paper makes a comprehensive discussion on Chen Mengjia’s opinions,both in the macro and micro levels.Part four: conclusion.With the focus on the bibliographic treatise and the well-rounded treatises as the main materials,we organized the development of oracle bone subject,and analyzed Chen Mengjia’s construction of oracle bone subject framework.Making a summary and evaluation of academic value of "Yinxu Buci Zongshu" and Chen Mengjia’s oracle bone study.Part five: appendix.While writing this dissertation,we have considered some issues related to "Yinxu Buci Zongshu",such as “inscriptions contents classification”,“double diviner” and “the conquest of Ren state calendar”.The study of the above three issues is presented as an appendix.The above content is the first volume of this dissertation.Part six: the study of oracle bone materials cited by "Yinxu Buci Zongshu".This dissertation classifies the various problems of the oracle bone materials cited by "Yinxu Buci Zongshu",from the three aspects: bone(shell)fragments,inscriptions and characters.Making form to classify the oracle bones(characters pattern),converting the old oracle bone numbers into the numbers in the“Jiaguwen Heji”,cleaning up all the problems that occurred when Chen Mengjia cited the oracle bone materials.The above content is the second volume of this dissertation.
