In the context of globalization,modern Chinese art has gradually developed a rich face that combines local and regional characteristics with global development.Ink is a traditional Chinese painting medium,which has the meaning of the carrier of Chinese culture,and has become an important and valuable research category ofglobal localization trends.In modern Chinese ink painting,the aesthetic symbols ofLao Tzu with traditional Chinese cultural characteristics are reflected in many modern ink painting works.This article will explore the aesthetic image symbols ofLao Tzu in traditional Chinese culture embedded in the creation of modern Chinese ink painting artist Liu Kuo-sung.This article first analyzes what is Lao Tzu's aesthetic image symbol,talks aboutthe relationship between image and symbol,and then sorts out the aesthetic image symbol of Lao Tzu embodied in traditional and modern Chinese ink painting.Furthermore,the article focuses on modern Chinese artist Liu Kuo-sung and his aesthetic thoughts.The origin and influence of It further analyzes the aesthetic symbols of Lao Tzu in Liu Kuo-sung's overall ink and wash works by Panofsky's research method of iconography,as well as the aesthetic symbols of Lao Tzu in individual works.Analyzing the aesthetic symbols of Lao Tzu in Liu Kuo-sung's ink art through the perspectives of iconology and semiology,we can understand itssignificant influence,value and significance on the development of modern Chinese ink painting.
