The western frontier poems in the Tang Dynasty refer to the poems created in the western frontier region of the Tang Dynasty or created by local people to depict the scenery,wars,feminine querimony,political and social conditions.On the basis of textual research and carding the frontier poems that meet the definition of the thesis in the unearthed literature,the thesis combines archaeological discoveries with handed down literature,trying to restore the background of poetry creation and poetry anthology compilation,and outline the creative process of frontier poets.The thesis will also try to break through the research confinement centered on the Central Plains culture and handed down literature,build a new research framework,and open up a new space for the study of frontier poems in the Tang Dynasty.The thesis is made up of six chapters.The first chapter is the general introduction,and the last five chapters focus on region.Chapter one,general review on the archaeological discoveries and western frontier poems in the Tang Dynasty.This chapter lists the western frontier poems in Dunhuang Literature and Turpan Literature,as well as the unearthed literature and epitaph inscriptions that can be mutually verified with the western frontier poems of Tang Dynasty.This chapter also investigates and analyzes the western frontier poems in Dunhuang bamboo slips,Wuliang period,Nan-Bei Dynasties to Sui Dynasty,and explores the similarities and differences between these poems and those in Central Plains,as well as their influence on the development of frontier poems in later generations.The last section of this chapter summarizes the general characteristics of the western frontier poems in the Tang Dynasty.Chapter two,Jiuquan and Liangzhou poems of Hexi frontier poems in Tang Dynasty.This chapter restores the relationship between the situation of Hexi and Tang Dynasty,which is shown in the poems of Jiuquan frontier poems in Dunhuang Literature,and analyzes the relationship between Xuanquanzhi and the frontier poems of Jiuquan.On the basis of comprehensive investigation of Liangzhou frontier poems in handed down literature and Dunhuang Literature,this chapter discusses the characteristics of Liangzhou frontier poems in different periods.Centering on the activities of a good general in Liangzhou called Ge Shuhan,this chapter confirms the performance of Ge Shuhan in Tang poetry and inscriptions,and explores the role of Ge Shuhan in Tang poetry.Chapter three,the poems of Tibetan regime in Dunhuang frontier poems of the Tang Dynasty.Based on the statistics of the Tibetan poems in Dunhuang Literature,this chapter further studies the Tibetan poems of the official monks in Dunhuang,and reveals the secularization and utilitarianism of the religious activities and political life of the monks in this period.This chapter also discusses the composition of the author and the creation time of the poems in the Dunhuang volume?x.3871+P.2555,corrects some previous scholars' hypotheses that do not conform to the historical facts,and tries to restore the compilation form and background of the volume.Chapter four,the poems of Guiyijun regin in Dunhuang frontier poems of the Tang Dynasty.Taking Wuzhen's repaying poems in Chang'an,twenty chants of Dunhuang and monks' poems during Cao's Guiyijun period as the research objects,this chapter investigates the relationship between literature and politics in the period of social transformation,the communication between Tang Dynasty and Guiyijun,and the situation of the Central Plains people going to the border,and reveals the secularization development process and reasons of monks' poems in Cao's Guiyijun period.Chapter five,frontier poems of Xizhou in the Tang Dynasty.Through the study of the poems of the early Tang Dynasty unearthed in Turpan,this chapter discusses the Southern Dynasty style of poetry in Xizhou area and the reasons for its formation.This chapter also combs the main traffic routes through Jiaohe recorded in the handed down and unearthed literature,and confirms with Cen Shen's travel poems and farewell poems.The last part of this chapter analyzes the Jiaohe poems in Dunhuang Literature,and investigates the political situation of Xizhou in the late Tang Dynasty.Chapter six,frontier poems of Anxi in the Tang Dynasty.Through the analysis of Luo Binwang's poems in the western regions,combined with historical records and unearthed documents,this chapter restores his march route and the relationship with Shule and Suiye.This chapter points out the fallacy of previous scholars in inferring the time when Qiuci was occupied by Tibetan regime according to Yuan Zhen's and Bai Juyi's poem Furong Ren.Through the analysis of unearthed documents and related inscriptions,it is judged that Qiuci was never occupied by Tibetan regime and was finally controlled by Uighur.This chapter also studies the creation time of Yejinmen · Kaiyutian,and restores the communication between Khotan and Guiyijun in this period.The last part of this chapter analyzes the poems related to Yanqi in Dunhuang Literature,and explores the living conditions of Yanqi royal family and the situation of Yanqi under the jurisdiction of Gaochang Uighur in the late Tang Dynasty.
