Abstract/Summary:
The frontier fortress of Yue Fu poetry in the early and high Tang makes a major contribution to the evolution of Yue Fu poetry, which has a certain influence on the development of the frontier fortress poetry in the Tang Dynasty. The tradition of Yuefu writing and the influence of Yuefu folk songs in the Northern Dynasty are the historical reasons for the prosperity of Yuefu poetry in the early flourishing Tang Dynasty.Frequent wars, the imperial examinations and the development of music are the practical reasons. These Poems extensively described scenery outside the Frontier, war scenes, characters and frontier policies, etc.Among them, there were not only the passions, yearnings and praises, but also the sympathies and criticisms.these poetry inherited the characteristics of the six dynasties, and after the reign of Emperor Gaozong and Emperor Wu,the dynasty underwent new changes, which were manifested in the increase of length, the simplicity or complexity of rhetoric and the patchwork of sentence patterns. On this basis, the main poets of the high Tang Dynasty made further innovations and transformed the frontier fortress Yuefu poetry into a style suitable for lyric feelings. The aesthetic characteristics are the combination of the real and the virtual,as well as the broad and powerful image style. This study selects two poets,Li Bai and Gao Shi,as case studies.Li Bai was able to make full use of the functions of Yuefu and use intricate sentence patterns to create intense emotional ups and downs, showing a strong lyrical color.Gao Shi’s poems are mostly related to his personal experience, showing a different realistic color from Li Bai or other Yue Fu poets in his time. The frontier fortress of Yue Fu poetry in the early and high Tang Dynasty had an important influence on the poetry and ci of the later generations, and the poems of the Song Dynasty,Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty were all drawn from them.
