As the most representative traditional culture and art in my country,Peking Opera has become a medium of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries since the beginning of the 20th century with its unique narrative method and aesthetic expression,and has always maintained a close relationship with the development of the international community.In the nearly 100 years since the 1930s to the present,the dissemination of Peking Opera in the European continent has hardly been interrupted.After the founding of New China,the two camps faced each other sharply.Under the "one-sided" foreign policy,Peking Opera,as an important starting point for New China's cultural diplomacy,has actively participated in the activities initiated by the Eastern European socialist countries led by the Soviet Union since 1951.In the multilateral cultural exchange activities,it became the bridgehead for the spread of Peking Opera in Europe during the "Seventeen Years",and after 1955 it began to advance to Western European capitalist countries.Before the"Cultural Revolution",the dissemination of Peking Opera,under the leadership of the government,adhered to the overall strategy of "culture first,diplomacy at the back",which not only realized the role of propaganda and promotion of the national image of New China,and made extensive international partners,but also broke through to a certain extent.It broke the "Iron 'Curtain" of Western capitalist countries and promoted people-to-people exchanges with countries that have not established diplomatic relations.After the "reform and opening up",the dissemination initiators of Peking Opera gradually changed from official to semi-official and private,and the form also changed from "single" to "interactive",and began to show a multi-level and multi-dimensional "re-dissemination" effect.On the whole,the strategy and content of Peking Opera's dissemination in Europe during the 50 years from 1949 to 2000 not only inherited the experience of Mei Lanfang,Cheng Yanqiu and other predecessors in the dissemination and investigation in Europe in the 1930s,but also directly influenced the foreign exchange of Peking Opera today.The establishment of dissemination methods and repertoires has important value in the history of overseas dissemination of Chinese Peking Opera,and also plays an important strategic role in my country's diplomatic work.This paper takes "the spread of Peking Opera in Europe" as the object,selects representative,large-scale,continuous and influential cultural diplomacy events from 1949 to 2000 as research cases,and collects as many as possible from home and abroad.This paper excavates first-hand literature data,analyzes and judges,combines field investigation,and focuses on interviews with relevant witnesses in a rescue way.From an interdisciplinary perspective,the dissertation takes communication as the main body,and integrates the relevant research perspectives of drama and opera,international relations,global history and other disciplines to maximize the details and overall picture of this history.On this basis,through the analysis of relevant texts and materials,combined with the background of the times and cultural background,this paper summarizes the communication strategies adopted by Peking Opera in different fields and stages in Europe,finds the motivation and position behind the changes of strategies,and explores the performance of Peking Opera in different periods and changes in the effects of communication between countries with different ideologies in Europe.At the same time,through the vertical sorting and comparison of the dissemination activities of Mei Lanfang and Cheng Yanqiu in the 1930s,the paper further considers the influence of changes in the way,content and subject of Peking Opera dissemination in Europe on the sociality and artistry of Peking Opera,and observes the cultural and artistic aspects of different historical stages.The evolution and effectiveness of diplomatic relations.This study explores the dissemination of Peking Opera in contemporary Europe,and also reflects on the representative cases of Peking Opera dissemination from 1949 to 2000 from the perspective of today.Through the observation of typical events,this paper summarizes the current political and cultural benefits of Peking Opera's dissemination in Europe,identify the obstacles and limitations of dissemination.It talks about how traditional art can demonstrate its traditional cultural value in modern aesthetics.And it is also about how to effectively improve the ability of international dissemination and strive to serve Peking Opera at the current stage.The paths and strategies of overseas dissemination provide certain enlightenment.
