States usually undertake and use their soft power ’cultural diplomacy’ to improve their image abroad with foreign audiences and further their foreign policy endeavors. International Relations experts and scholars have talked about cultural exchange in terms of exerting ’soft power’ over other countries and their populations. However, such research has not adequately taken into account how cultural outcomes can be promoted as part of cultural diplomacy are received abroad and how foreign audiences from within and without engaging with those products.
