This paper examines the six most rich and interconnected themes of Wu Mingshi's literary works, namely revolution, salvation, love, sin, death, and religion, for interpretation, explanation, and summary. This paper uses a close reading of the text to analyze the artistic images portrayed and the artistic styles presented in each theme,to analyze the ideology and cultural conceptions of the writers contained in the expression of the literary themes of Wu Mingshi, and to explore the narrative characteristics of the intermingling and mutual appreciation of multiple themes in Wu Mingshi's creations, while adopting the research method of textual debate to sort out and describe the process of continuous improvement in the expression of the literary themes of him.In addition, the paper illustrates the important value of the creation of Wu Mingshi to the construction of a new modern culture in the sense of literary history. The text is divided into six chapters, except for the introduction and conclusion. The introductory section reviews the previous research results on Wu Mingshi, sorts out the historical development trajectory of Wu Mingshi's research, introduces the research methodology of this paper, and explains the research objectives and academic significance of this thesis. The first chapter explicates the revolutionary theme in Wu Mingshi's creation. The theme of revolution is always a burning passion in Wu Mingshi's spiritual exploration, presenting a complex and multifaceted structure of meaning. This chapter analyzes the image of rebellious youth in Wu Mingshi's literary works from the new literary writing model of “rebellion and redemption”,analyzes the psychological motivation behind Wu Mingshi's rebellious behavior, and explains the philosophical basis behind redemption. The chapter also analyzes issues such as humanitarianism in Wu Mingshi's revolutionary narrative, sacrifice in revolution, the relationship between revolution and poetry, the personality of revolutionaries, and individual rights and revolutionary beliefs from the perspective of their ideological and literary historical significance. In addition, this chapter analyzes the characteristics of Wu Mingshi's portrayal of international revolutionaries and analyzes the issue of internationalism in his revolutionary narrative from the perspective of factional struggle in political parties. The second chapter explicates the theme of salvation in Wu Mingshi's creation.Wu Mingshi is a modern writer who came to prominence during the war era,but his salvation narrative has its own unique focus and plot development dynamics. The urban and homeland configurations that coexist in the “native space” and “colonial space” of Wu Mingshi's novel of salvation imply his personal experience of life, and the various characters shaping in Wu Mingshi's writing, such as direct participants, sympathizers and even traitors in the war of salvation, all present the author's unique cultural thinking. In particular,Wu Mingshi's understanding of the issue of sacrifice and his consideration of the “degradation” of the nation in his writing show the ideological characteristics of Wu Mingshi's rescue writing in the war era.His focus on the cultural and spiritual aspects of the thinking of salvation reveals the global significance and national characteristics of China's war against Japan. The third chapter analyzes the theme of love in Wu Mingshi's writing. The narratives of love, revolution and salvation are often fused together. This chapter analyzes the gender factor in Wu Mingshi's love narratives by capturing some key characters, examines the basic characteristics of Wu Mingshi's love as a thread running through other important themes, and also analyzes the literary-historical significance of Wu Mingshi's love narratives from the comparison and analysis of important editions of key works, and explores Wu Mingshi's creative mentality and the dissemination history of his works. The fourth chapter analyzes the theme of sin in Wu Mingshi's writing.Sin is an important perspective from which Wu Mingshi's creations explore the depth of human nature and cultural differences. From the revelation of two human characteristics, jealousy and betrayal, his creations provide abstract reflections on the evil of human nature, and from the experiences of prisoners and reformers, the evil acts of the Burnt Maoist Party and the Japanese army against civilians, etc.,they provide concrete descriptions of the complex manifestations of human evil in specific environments. In particular,in the narrative of intellectual' marital tragedies and degenerate lives,Wu Mingshi explores in depth the “evil of knowledge” that runs counter to the spirit of enlightenment. The “flower of evil” in Wu Mingshi's writing not only inherits the humanitarian spirit of the May Fourth New Literature, but also reflects Wu Mingshi's unique reflection on the fate of the national intellectuals in the misery of the times. The fifth chapter analyzes the theme of death in Wu Mingshi's works. In the narratives of various themes,Wu Mingshi deliberately arranges the death ending of the characters and describes in detail the struggling state of the characters with different causes of death.Through the description of these unfortunate fates and scenes,Wu Mingshi expresses his thinking about death.Wu Mingshi's view of death is dialectical.Although death is a fear of life, the characters in his works often reflect the necessity of death and make a positive evaluation of the value and significance of death. The thinking of giving meaning to death in the transformation of life and death in Wu Mingshi's works also makes his writing of death theme go beyond the discussion in the general ideological sense, and has a unique significance in the history of thought. The sixth chapter analyzes the religious theme Wu Mingshi's works. This chapter starts from the process and reasons of the key characters' conversion to religion, analyzes the significance of literary history and ideological history of Wu Mingshi's initiation narrative, and interprets Wu Mingshi's aesthetic thinking of religious life from the aspects of his thinking about the origin of religion, the realization of religious aesthetics, and the humanistic understanding of the essence of religion. From the perspective of understanding religious sanctity and principle and criticizing corrupt religious believers and religious organizations, this paper explains the development of Wu Mingshi's religious criticism, and analyzes the freedom principle in Wu Mingshi's religious ideal from the aspects of establishing a healthy interaction between man and God,and the liberalization ideal of religious worship. The concluding section analyzes the close connection between various themes in Wu Mingshi's creations, summarizes the respective characteristics of the six major thematic narratives in Wu Mingshi's creations, and places Wu Mingshi's creations in the development process of modern Chinese literary history to analyze its uniqueness in the spirit of culture, pointing out that Wu Mingshi is a writer with a distinctly self-conscious cultural conception, and all of his creations are from different directions and levels to his cultural. All of his works illustrate his cultural conceptions figuratively or symbolically, historically or realistically, and although they were written in different eras, embodying different types of themes, and even the conceptions of their creation changed with the times, they reveal,as a whole,a complete correspondence and fit between Wu Mingshi's creative talent and his grand cultural conceptions.
