Research On The Concept Of Equality Of Socialism With Chinese Characteristics In The New Era

Equality is a common value pursued by all the people and an important criterion for judging the level of social development.It always works in all ages.On the new journey of building a modern socialist country,narrowing the income gap and realizing social equality are the major propositions that the CPC must face directly.It is proposed at the fifth Plenary Session of the 19 th CPC Central Committee that “More substantial and tangible progress should be made in realizing common prosperity for all people.” This means that a philosophy of people-centered development should be pursued,the concept of equality of socialism with Chinese characteristics should be practiced,the trend that all the people share in the fruits of reform and development should be promoted,and China's socialist modernization should be carried forward continuously.The concept of equality of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era answers the following questions:“Whose equality is it for”,“What is equality”,“Why is equality called for” and “How to realize equality” in the new era.It is an active exploration and experience summarization of the practice of CPC to promote social equality.The issues related to the concept of equality in the new era are studied from five aspects in this thesis.The detailed study is as follows:The ideological resources of the concept of equality in the new era are sorted out in the first part.Marxist concept of equality is the ideological basis for the concept of equality in the new era.The concept of equality is of profound social and historical nature.The equality of capitalism is not real equality.The proletariat's requirements for equality are to eliminate all classes and realize equality through radical institutional change.The concept of equality in the excellent traditional culture of China is the cultural basis of the concept of equality in the new era,covering the following four aspects: The Taoist concept of equality that all things are equal and equality is the key to governing a country;the Confucian concept of equality based on benevolence and justice and fair selection of talents;the Mohist concept of equality that everyone loves the whole world and is the same as the emperor and the legalist concept of equality that values law over benevolence and that punishment is applicable to all classes.The concept of equality in the new era also inherits and develops the concept of equality in the period of the New Democratic Revolution,the socialist revolution and construction,and the concept of equality of socialism with Chinese characteristics.The background of the concept of equality in the new era is expounded in the second part.The value orientation of the concept of equality in the new era includes that equality is the proposition of the era to realize common prosperity,the task of the era to resolve social contradictions,the appeal of the era to realize a better life and the spirit of the era to implement shared development.From the perspective of realistic development,the practical basis of the concept of equality in the new era includes the material basis for building a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way,the social governance basis for deepening reform comprehensively,the legal basis for governing the country by law comprehensively and the Party's leadership basis for governing the Party comprehensively and strictly.The scientific connotation of the concept of equality in the new era is studied in the third part.Since the 19 th CPC National Congress,China's historical position and the principal contradiction of the society have undergone new changes.The concept of equality in the new era must adhere to the basic principles of distribution according to contribution,inclusive growth and shared development,to establish a concept of equality that includes equal rights to participate in the whole process,equal chances of all-round access,equal rules applicable to all fields and equal distribution of total factor development.Meanwhile,the main features of the concept of equality in the new era include historical,practical,dialectical,systematical and complex nature.The way to realize the concept of equality in the new era is analyzed in the fourth part.Firstly,the reform of the income distribution system is to be deepened;the participation mechanism of various factors of production is to be improved;the role of the third distribution is to be given full play to;the formation of a stable and orderly distribution pattern is to be promoted,and the institutional construction of social equality is to be improved.Secondly,the construction of advanced social culture is to be strengthened;the concept of equality of socialism is to be fostered and practiced;the service level of public culture is to be improved;the industrial system of modern culture is to be enhanced and the equal rights and interests in public culture are to be promoted.Thirdly,people's well-being should be ensured and improved through development;education should satisfy the people;fuller employment with higher quality should be realized;a public health system should be built actively;the multi-level social security system should be improved;the housing security system for all people should be enhanced and the equality of the bottom line of people's well-being should be ensured.Fourthly,the construction of ecological civilization should be promoted continuously;the concept that lucid waters and green mountains are invaluable assets should be cultivated and practiced;ecological economic forms should be developed vigorously;the system of ecological civilization should be improved and intergenerational equality in resources and the environment should be maintained.Fifthly,Party conduct will be improved,disciplines will be strengthened,and corruption will be cracked down on unswervingly;intra-Party political supervision will be strengthened comprehensively;corruption will be cracked down on persistently,and the “Three No” mechanism will be promoted wholly to create a clean and upright governance environment.The historical contribution of the concept of equality in the new era is summarized in the fifth part.The theoretical contribution of it lies in its inheritance and development of the Marxist concept of equality and perfection of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.The practical contribution of it is that it embodies the social consensus of people on equality and responds to people's realistic needs for a better life in the new era.
