With the coming of knowledge-based economy, the scientific research on sport research is under both longitudinal and crosswise development. Conducting research all by oneself is not capable in solving important issues any more, while carrying on cooperative studies is necessary. Creating research team among general universities in advantage of intelligence resource and subject superiority can avoid research repetition. It is effective in contributing characteristic PE disciplines, training discipline leaders and combining PE research to social practice.In this study, taking researching team as study object, the cooperative PE research among general universities, the cooperation network and the knowledge share are analyzed based upon the theory of organizational knowledge sharing and the establishment of cooperation-cooperative network-study team. The methods such as document date, bibliometrics, social network analysis, questionnaire survey, survey research, mathematical statistics and logic reasoning are widely used during the study. Combine with the characteristics of PE discipline and the study team, a tree structure model for general university PE research is built while the methods and plans for study team building are proposed in this study. The study results shows:The infiltration between PE research and other related disciplines mainly occurs in general universities. With a huge researching group and abundant subjects resource, the amount and aspects of general universities'PE research are much greater the colleges of PE and the administrations of sports. This makes the creating of PE research team in general universities possible considering the study resource. The cooperative theses from general universities are more than those from the colleges of PE and the administrations of sports. These research mostly focus on the theory of PE, taking positive effects on elaborating the development of PE and its inherent laws. Because of the limit research resource, the applied research in general universities are insufficient. The utilization of the resource beyond universities is low. There is a“small workshop”cooperative style among general universities'PE research which have problems such as low cooperation rates and shortage in core-authors. This cooperative style largely depends on the relationships between PE teachers. In this hugely arbitrary cooperation, the level of knowledge sharing is low.Effected by the characteristics of research, the overall structural index of cooperative networks of PE research in general universities is smaller than those in college of PE and the administrations of sports, while the derivative index is greater in general universities. For PE teachers from general universities, positions they take in the cooperative network and the roles they play are all about the same. The knowledge structure of the PE teacher in general universities is similar, which makes the inter-disciplinary research difficult. The group in cooperative network is small with little“structural hole”. There isn't an inner circles which led by discipline leaders. The cooperative members do not always focus their research on the same direction, making the cooperative network instable. In the network, the shortage of a communicative platform leads to the problems for small groups'knowledge exchange and share. With this kind of shortage, the network can not meet the need for a scientific research team's network structure. The exchanges between individual knowledge and the network resource are tough jobs. Meanwhile, the knowledge share in cooperative network is in low level, causing poor efficiency to PE research teams.The organizational knowledge sharing provides assurance to cooperative teams'culture built. According to the questionnaire survey which carried on among in-service PE teachers from parts of general universities in Shanghai, it is hard for PE research teams to develop their potentials and meet their need of practical demands. The importance of knowledge sharing has been realized by most of the PE teachers. They consider harmonious atmosphere as premise to knowledge exchange and sharing. The recognize degree of uniformity between individual goals and is at high level, while the situation is opposite to uniformity between team goals and administrations'pursuit. The goals set by individuals, teams and administrations are not truly united. The establishment to research teams in general universities is of some aimlessness, gaining little support from administrations. Teachers who are at high education level have experiences in establishing research group. The organizer plays an essential role in the team creating. Its academic achievements and personal charm gain unity and harmony in the team. The responsibilities, powers and benefits to each member gain unify between individual goals and team pursuits and the order on the whole. Teachers take relative responsibilities to actualize their own personal worth and meet their psychological need. The system of university and department serve as a positive role to the external factors including the establishment of good research environment, external knowledge sharing and the support to the whole team. The system thus is of huge necessity to the creating of a research team.Through fieldwork the form of research team, the structure of network, the knowledge structures of team members and the knowledge share are analyzed using the best practice transfer mechanism from organizational knowledge sharing theory. It provides references to the creating of PE research team in general universities.Based upon the basic principles in creating research team and the result from those studies, a tree structure model has been designed. Using social network analysis and the knowledge sharing mechanism, this model is proved to meet the practical need. The training and import of discipline leaders and key experts and the affection brought by the selection of team members have been discussed in this paper. The requirement of administrative participation during the process of evaluation has been given according to the team creating rules. The scale of trans-department, trans-subject and inter-discipline research must be enlarged. Import and train discipline leaders that fit to the situation of university. Cultivate compound talents. Choose the suitable pattern of research team. Realize the multi-development from one point to the whole area. Establish a long-term cooperation with several ways, including programs, joint cultivation, lab, research institute that merge the advantage disciplines with PE. Perfect the encourage mechanism and form a health culture, then finally accomplish goals and meet the self-need.
