As an important form and carrier of college students' ideological and political education,thematic education for college students plays an indispensable role in their all-round development and healthy growth.Because of its distinct educational theme and practical essence,it is highly favored by college students.And in a direct-viewing concrete educational environment with equal interaction,they are imperceptibly receiving education with distinct themes,rich contents and diverse forms,thus establishing and practicing the correct value orientation and moral concepts in a good-guided way.This process of internalization in mind and externalization in practice,enables them to achieve the fundamental goal of improving ideological and moral qualities in one or several aspects.As a kind of educational practice,it needs to be guided by a scientific theoretical system and to form a deep integration of theory and practice,which can lay a solid foundation for its scientific development.Therefore,based on the basic principles of Marxism and the theory of ideological and political education discipline,it is necessary to make theoretical research on the thematic education and then obtain the theoretical research results with high quality,on the premise of following the fundamental laws of ideological and political education for college students,in order to better guide and promote its sustainable and healthy development.The research mainly focuses on the following aspects:Explain the connotation and function of the thematic education for college students.When launching the research on it,we should first make clear what is the thematic education for college students,which is the essential premise and important foundation for the research.In order to answer this elementary question,we mainly focus on the connotation and function of the thematic education.In a broad sense,it refers to all educational activities around specific themes;in a narrow sense,it is a systematic educational activity,with serving the national ideological construction and promoting the all-round development of human beings as its primary goal,and with the core of focusing on the subjective and abstract themes such as value judgment,moral standards and codes of conduct demonstrating the positive values of society.The so-called thematic education for college students,means the activities that that take college students as the object of education,rely on certain time and space,aim at promoting their overall development,and focus on the construction of scientific and reasonable theme structure.It has important educational functions which areembodied in guiding political direction,inheriting innovative culture,shaping noble personality,and restraining and standardizing behavior.Sort out systematically the development process of the thematic education since the reform and opening up.Since the 40 years of reform and opening up,under the careful leadership and cordial care of the Party and the state,it has become increasingly prominent,playing an indispensable role in the personnel training system of higher education.Its development process can be roughly divided into four stages:the first stage is from 1978 to 1983,the period of restoration and construction;the second one is from 1984 to 1991,the period of development test;the third one is from1992 to 2003,the period of improvement and development;and the fourth one is from2004 to the present,the period of innovation and development.With the steady progress of reform and opening-up,we make it increasingly perfect and have accumulated the related valuable experiences.Firstly,we should focus on the development theme of the times;secondly,we should expand the coverage of education theme;thirdly,we should combine inheritance with innovation;fourthly,we should use time scientifically;fifthly,we should integrate the daily life of the educational objects into the thematic education.These basic experiences have become the magic weapon of developing thematic education.Investigate and analyze the current situation,problems and causes of subject-based education.By means of sample survey and data presentation,this paper systematically and comprehensively demonstrates its current situation from the perspectives of educatees' receiving education,organizing educational activities in Colleges and universities,and the effectiveness of this kind of education.At the same time,the paper also deeply analyzed its prominent problems,for example,it is lack of distinctness in the subject of education,richness in the content of education,pertinence in the mode of education,interaction in the educational atmosphere,initiative in the object of education,and systematization in the educational resources.These problems all seriously restrict its development.There are inevitability and deep-seated roots behind the emergence of these problems.The effective combination of education has not yet been formed,the construction of educational theory system is still deficient,the subjectivity of educational objects is weak,and the establishment of educational system is relatively fragile.Only by scientifically examining the root causes of these problems,can we provide guidance for strengthening and improving the education.Make an in-depth analysis of the times situation faced by the thematic education.With the deep development of economic globalization,information networking and cultural pluralism,it is facing both precious opportunities and severe challenges.From the perspective of development opportunities,the factors,such as information networking,cultural pluralism,big data era and deep education reform,have brought it many chances.From the viewpoint of development challenges,it is faced with diverse challenges brought by economic globalization,information networking,cultural pluralism.The 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,based on a comprehensive study of the international and domestic development situation,made a scientific conclusion that socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era,which places new hopes and requirements on its development.First,we should further manifest its concept;second,we must go on enhancing its effectiveness;third,we ought to continuously highlight its focus;and fourth,we are supposed to constantly enrich its content.Put forward the optimum path of the thematic education.The fundamental aim of the research is to insist on the problem consciousness and orientation,solve the outstanding problems existing in the subject education,and present the specific measures to strengthen and improve the subject education.To optimize the subject education,we should first improve its operation system,including constructing a perfect content system,forming a scientific method system,and establishing a well-prepared evaluation system,so as to accomplish the systematization of its development.Secondly,we should promote its transformation and development,including the transformation of educational concepts,modes and patterns,in order to realize its modernization.Thirdly,we should form the operational mechanism with the integration of theory and practice,establish the cooperative mechanism of multi-force participation,and improve the safeguard mechanism of multi-action and co-action,which achieves its standardization.Finally,we should control the key links of college students' thematic education,such as condensing the educational theme scientifically,make rational use of educational resources and seize the educational opportunity reasonably,in order to realize its scientific development.
