Since the eighteenth Party Congress,the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core has attached great importance to the inheritance and development of Chinese traditional culture.General secretary Xi Jinping has expounded the relationship between traditional culture and socialist core values and ideological and political education many times.The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China points out: we should deeply explore the ideas,humanistic spirit and moral norms contained in traditional Chinese culture,inherit and innovate in combination with the requirements of the times,and let Chinese culture show its permanent charm and style of the times.Zuo Zongtang is a famous statesman,militarist and thinker in modern China.Mao Zedong once said of Zuo Zongtang,"In Hunan,t here are two famous people,Zeng Guofan ang Zuo Zongtang." Lu Xun referred to him as " the backbone of China." General Secretary Xi Jinping also talked about Zuo Zongtang in many different speeches,which shows Zuo Zongtang is a special figure who has made a historical contribution and whose ideas deserve further study.In particular,although Zuo Zongtang's moral educational thought has class and time limitations,it originates from Chinese traditional culture and is also a part of Chinese traditional culture.Inheriting and carrying forward Zuo Zongtang's moral education thought can bring a certain degree of reference and inspiration for the moral construction of citizens in the new era and the ideological and political education in colleges and universities.This paper makes an objective research on Zuo Zongtang's moral educational thought with the double line logic of history and reality,completes the inheritance and transformation of his contemporary value,and further explores the practical application of his contemporary value.In order to comprehensively and accurately present the content and manifestation of Zuo Zongtang's moral educational thought,this paper first traces the historical background of Zuo Zongtang from three aspects of politics,economy and culture,systematically combs his personal experience and ideological origin,and reasonably summarizes the formation process of his moral educational thought.Then it defines the core contents of moral educational thoughts in his ideological system,such as ideological theory,values,ideals and beliefs,practice mode,that is,the thought of self-cultivation and education,the thought of patriotism and the thought of serving the people,and then analyzes the basic characteristics of Zuo Zongtang's moral educational thoughts,and evaluates the historical significance of Zuo Zongtang's moral educational thoughts,This paper examines the sparkle and limitations of Zuo Zongtang's moral educational thought,and follows the theoretical principles of Xi Jinping's new Chinese socialist ideology for traditional culture,completes the transformation of contemporary values of Zuo Zongtang's moral educational thought,and applies the application of contemporary values to the educational function as a supportive resource tool.Finally,starting from the three groups of subdivided primary and secondary school students,college students and social groups,combined with specific moral status and problems,this paper explores the application and practice path of Zuo Zongtang's moral educational thought.In short,on the one hand,from the theoretical level,we should learn from the essence of contemporary values of Zuo Zongtang's moral educational thought to enhance the moral quality of different groups of social members and to confront the moral problems of some social members.On the other hand,from the practical level,combined with the learning,life and growth rules of different groups of social members,it seeks the feasible practical application of the contemporary values of Zuo Zongtang's moral educational thought.Through the combination of history and reality,theory and practice,we strive to make the contemporary values of Zuo Zongtang's moral educational thought scientifically and reasonably applicable in practice,improve the moral level of social members in the new era,and help the ideological and political education in colleges and universities.Zuo Zongtang's moral educational thought can become beneficial to citizens' moral construction,enrich and promote the ideological and political education in colleges and universities.It is one of the supporting resources to conserve the socialist core values,so as to inherit and innovate the traditional Chinese culture,and provide theoretical and practical support for the comprehensive construction of a modern socialist country.
