Study On Strategic Adaptation Of The New Science-based Firms(NSBFs)

Organized entrepreneurial activity has become an important catalytic agent in the process of the commercialization of university technology from the laboratory to the commercial market,which has led to the rise of new science-based firms(NSBFs).The NSBFs is founded by the academic researchers of the university and is committed to the achievement of the commercialization of the university technology.In the development process of NSBFs,they need to complete tasks,overcome many challenges and difficulties,face the constantly changing environment,as well as the uncertainty of technology development.Strategic adaptation is the response of new enterprises to uncertain environment.Interpreting the changing environmental signals as diverse and frequent strategic actions of enterprises can better cope with environmental changes and obtain strategic advantages.Enterprises with higher environmental adaptation can gain more competitive advantage and higher enterprise performance in uncertain environment.Based on the theory of resource base,what is the main factorr that causes thinking to influence the strategic adaptation of NSBFs? For the NSBFs possess technological advantages,so the role of core or unique technological resources in strategic adaptation cannot be ignored.Therefore,the paper focuses on the main factors that influence the strategic adaptation of the new enterprise based on science,and puts forward the main research questions of the paper:(1)what are the main factors that influence the survival and development of NSBFs;(2)how to measure the main factors and analyze its influence on the strategic decision of NSBFs in growth stage;(3)how the technological resources of NSBFs affect the strategic adaptation in growth stage.NSBFs rely on scientific research and technological development.The creation of a new science-based firm is a series of processes from the beginning of creation to the commercialization of technology to products and services.As the main conductor of all-stage behavior in the process of growth and leading the development of the enterprise,the university academic researchers are the key to success.During the process of growth,the academic researchers of the university act as academic researchers,entrepreneur and enterprise managers,and their decision-making is made in the context of the influence of the academic environment and the industrial environment.The growth process and influencing factors of the NSBFs need to be further studied.The growth of NSBFs is a dynamic evolution process,facing the uncertainty of constantly changing environment and technology development.The development goals and strategic decisions are different in different stages,and the role of technological resources in each stage will be different.Therefore,it is very important for the strategic decision of different development stages to meet the technical resources purposefully and pertinently,during the entrepreneurial activities of NSBFs.This paper analyzes the different growth characteristics of NSBFs in the start-up stage and the growing-up stage.Because of the important role of technology resources in the growth period of NSBFs,it is recognized that the role of core or unique technology resources which affect the strategic adaptation can't be ignored.Therefor the paper analysis and discuss the dynamic process of the development and growth of NSBFs and the important role of technology resources.Through the exploration and discussion of the growth process and influencing factors of NSBFs,it is found that scientific research provides a knowledge basis for NSBFs.Enterprises can quickly grasp the pulse of technological renewal,which can't be separated from sufficient scientific knowledge and rich basic research,thus leading the new technological change and opening up the new product market,achieving sustainable development and rapid growth.The main task of NSBFs in the startup stage is the development of core technology,and the strategic action in this stage is focused on the R&D of the core technology and the accumulation of the technical resources.The growing-up stage of NSBFs is the strategic choice stage of the enterprise,needs to deal with the change of the environment,make the correct choice of strategy,identify the opportunity and realize the enterprise profit.The enterprise will take a series of strategic actions based on existing key resources.Therefore,the effect and mechanism of NSBFs strategic action,which effect by technology resource,is an important issue for the NSBFs strategic adaptation in the growing-up stage,and it is to be further revealed.Starting from the problem orientation,which is through the progressive research logic of cognition,discovery and analysis.The paper carries out three parts of work,and forms three main chapters:(1)to understand the importance of technology resources in the dynamic growth process of NSBFs;(2)to find that technology resources are the main factors affecting strategic decision-making;(3)to analyze the influence of technological resources on strategic adaptation.The specific contents of the paper are arranged as follows:First,describe the concept,characteristics and dynamics of the NSBFs,as well as the growth theory of the NSBFs;then,the basic theory of resources is set forth,The paper sums up the research on how to influence the NSBFs by the scholars,and finally,describe the concept of strategic adaptation,and the theoretical research on the strategic adaptation,which is summarized from the perspective of the strategic management.Secondly,the paper expounds the key node of the growth process of the NSBFs,so as to propose the growth process of the NSBFs,and to use the case study method,to deduce the effectiveness of the process model and to explore the behavior and role of the academic researchers,as well as the important role of the technology resources in the process of the growth of NSBFs,so the research on the NSBFs is enriched.Based on the dynamic of the growth process,the paper summarizes the development process and the influential factors of the NSBFs and constructs a new model of system dynamic analysis of the NSBFs.By decomposing the proposition of the system dynamics model,the proposition is proved by the case study,so the rationality and the effectiveness of the system dynamics model are described.Finally,summarize the growth process dynamic of the new science-based firms,and analyze the growth characteristics of the start-up stage and growing-up stage,because of the important role of the technology resources during the growing-up stage,which raises the attention and thinking on the influence of the technology resources on the strategic adaptation.Third,the paper expounds the effect of the technology resources on the enterprise,and the dynamic matching relationship between technology resources and growth process.Then based on the summing up and sorting out the division of technical resources by scholars divides the technical resources into two dimensions of technology depth and technology width.And based on the measurement and research of the technology depth and width by the scholars,designed the method for measuring the depth and width of the NSBFs,which provides a theoretical basis for empirical research on the influence of the technology resources on the growing-up stage strategic adaptation of the NSBFs,and also provides a measurement method for the measurement of the technology depth and width.Finally,using the new three-board listed pharmaceutical manufacturing enterprises,and in the growing-up stage of the NSBFs as an empirical research sample,the effect of the technology depth and width as antecedent on the growing-up strategic adaptation of the NSBFs is discussed.The patent is the expression of the NSBFs technical knowledge,which use the international patent classification and the patent IPC code to measure the technology depth and width.The strategic adaptation is a series of strategic actions,so as to summarize the strategic actions of the enterprise after the new three-board listing time point,and then calculate the strategic action diversity and frequency of the enterprise.The paper analyzes the influence of the technology depth and width of the NSBFs on the strategic adaptation by using the regression analysis,and probes into how the knowledge structure of the enterprise influences the NSBFs strategic adaptation,which enriches the theory of strategic management.
