Research On The Relationship Between Enterprise Boundary Dependence,absorptive Capacity And Innovation Performance In The Context Of Open Innovation

At present,with the development,progress and integration of science and technology in the world,Chinese companies have to deal with the multinational companies with a large number of advanced technologies in addition to facing the imbalance of market development,the diversity of consumer demand and the competitors in the local market,which creates a more dynamic technological environment.The establishment of organizational boundaries can buffer the core behavior of an organization from the influence of irregular changes in the external environment,and can limit the scope of related accidents.In the process of enterprise management and operation,it is very important to clarify the boundary of the organization.Intuitively,boundaries and the processes by which boundaries are created,reinforced,transcended,and dissolved are an important aspect of an organization.Organizational boundaries while described as is open,but is not affected by the outside world too much turmoil to closed within an organization,in the real world temper this openness of behavior will continue to try,the enterprise will be formed certain dependencies of their own boundaries,namely in the process of the evolution and expansion of the boundary,organizational boundaries created a relatively stable environment for the enterprise,enterprise in the field of have control including geographical,technical knowledge,cooperation in the field of tissue types,and the formation of psychological dependence,makes its strategy in the process of execution is affected by the past practices,The process of boundary dependence is a process of mutation,selection and retention experienced by the enterprises affected by the "convention-adaptation" process,and it will play a crucial role in the internal adjustment and reform of the organization.In the case of enterprise boundary dependence,the effective boundary crossing by adjusting dependence can help the organization integrate external input into internal innovation,promote inter-organizational knowledge transfer and technology development,and improve the performance and innovation level of the enterprise.Enterprise technological innovation is not only highly dependent on the internal knowledge base,but also closely related to the external knowledge source,and also depends on the organizational identity of the members.The capability boundary dependence,psychological boundary dependence and knowledge boundary dependence to a large extent affect and even determine the scope,space,direction and path of enterprises' technological innovation activities,drive the process of enterprises' technological innovation,and bring about the difference of innovation performance levels among enterprises.Absorptive capacity is the ability to continuously acquire,digest,transform and utilize knowledge from the external environment.How to constantly enrich their own knowledge reserves,constantly accumulate new knowledge,use the absorptive capacity of enterprises to quickly identify market opportunities,and efficiently use the external new knowledge to achieve enterprise growth,has become the key factors affecting the creation and maintenance of core competence of enterprises.Open innovation is crucial to the transformation and upgrading of China's economy.Companies that pursue open innovation strategies tend to achieve higher innovation performance.Open innovation refers to the purposefully management of knowledge and its mobility across organizational boundaries,and the joint creation and acquisition of knowledge value through distributed innovation,business model innovation and external innovation subjects,which is conducive to the mining of competitive advantage sources from internal and external technological know-how,intellectual property rights and competitive ability.With an open innovation strategy,organizational boundaries become permeable,raising questions about what organizational boundaries really are and how to "open up" them to identify and integrate valuable knowledge from outside.At present,how enterprise boundary dependence affects the level of two types of innovation performance-incremental innovation and radical innovation,and how the two types of absorptive capacity-potential absorptive capacity and realized absorptive capacity play a central role between enterprise boundary dependence,incremental innovation and radical innovation.It is still a research problem that has not been fully discussed and needs to be deepened and clarified.How the two types of open innovation-introverted open innovation and extroverted open innovation,play a moderating role between the boundary dependence and absorptive capacity of firms and thus affect the innovation performance of firms is still to be discussed.In addition,in the introduction,transformation and application of knowledge and resources,it does bring greater creativity and economic benefits to enterprises,but to some extent,it also brings risks and problems to the culture,property rights and management of enterprises.Therefore,it becomes particularly important to study the strategy of technological innovation protection.In this paper,a comprehensive use of SPSS22 and STATA15 analysis tools,using multiple research methods such as literature research,case study,questionnaire research,empirical research,for related issues to carry out qualitative and quantitative research.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows :(1)From the perspective of organizational boundary,capability boundary dependence,psychological boundary dependence and knowledge boundary dependence have significant positive effects on incremental innovation and radical innovation.Enhancing the three dimensions of enterprise boundary dependence can enhance the incremental innovation and radical innovation of enterprises.In addition,enterprises reflected in capability boundary dependence can learn and grasp the opportunities and knowledge of relevant technological progress or change in time to promote technological progress and technological breakthrough of enterprises,which has a greater positive promoting effect on radical innovation.(2)Capability boundary dependence,psychological boundary dependence and knowledge boundary dependence have significant positive effects on potential absorptive capacity and realized absorptive capacity.Among them,a stable "psychological contract" formed by organizational members can realize the integration of organizational culture,organizational structure,process and organizational norms,which is very conducive to the improvement of absorptive capacity of enterprises on the basis of organizational identity.(3)Both the potential absorptive capacity and the realized absorptive capacity have a significant positive impact on the incremental innovation and the radical innovation of enterprises.And the realized absorptive capacity has greater influence on incremental innovation and radical innovation than the potential absorptive capacity.(4)The moderating effect of introverted open innovation on the relationship between capability boundary dependence and realized absorptive capacity is positive and significant,and the indirect effect of capability boundary dependence on incremental innovation and radical innovation through realized absorptive capacity will be positively moderated by introverted open innovation.Other export-oriented open innovation relies on the ability to border with potential absorptive capacity has a positive adjustment,between extroversion open innovation in psychological boundary dependence and positive adjustment effect between reality of absorptive capacity,and the influence of absorptive capacity of enterprise psychological boundary relying on through reality not directly influence the effect of radical innovation will be affected by the positive regulatory role of export-oriented open innovation,enterprise capability boundary dependence potential absorptive capacity of incremental innovation through indirect effects are influenced by the positive extroverted open innovation.(5)Market volatility has a positive moderating effect on the relationship between capability boundary dependence and potential absorptive capacity,market volatility has a negative moderating effect on the relationship between psychological boundary dependence and realized absorptive capacity,and market volatility has a negative moderating effect on the relationship between knowledge boundary dependence and realized absorptive capacity.Psychological boundary and enterprises rely on through the influence of absorptive capacity of the reality of incremental innovation and radical innovation will directly affect the effect of negative regulation by the market volatility,relying on enterprise knowledge boundary by reality not directly impact on the radical innovation effect of absorptive capacity will be affected by market volatility negative regulatory role,enterprise capability boundary dependence potential absorptive capacity of incremental innovation through indirect effect will be affected by market volatility of positive adjustment.In addition,technological turbulence plays a positive moderating role between capability boundary dependence and realized absorptive capacity.(6)Legal protection plays a positive moderating role between capability boundary dependence and realized absorptive capacity,while legal protection plays a positive moderating role between knowledge boundary dependence and realized absorptive capacity.Moreover,the indirect effect of the firm's capability boundary dependence on the incremental innovation and the radical innovation through the realistic absorptive capacity will be positively moderated by the legal protection,while the indirect effect of the firm's knowledge boundary dependence on the radical innovation through the realized absorptive capacity will be positively moderated by the legal protection.The innovation of this paper is embodied in putting forward the concept of boundary dependence on the basis of previous research,dividing boundary dependence into capability boundary dependence,psychological boundary dependence and knowledge boundary dependence,and developing a measure of boundary dependence scale.Based on the background and development trend of the era of globalization,knowledge economy and network economy,this paper studies the impact of the three dimensions of corporate boundary dependence on incremental innovation and radical innovation,and reveals the dependence of potential absorptive capacity and realized absorptive capacity on corporate boundaries.The core role played between incremental innovation and radical innovation,as well as the moderating effect of open innovation,changes in the technological environment,and technological innovation protection strategies.The relevant conclusions provide a wealth of theoretical and practical enlightenment for Chinese enterprises to carry out technological innovation activities,make technological progress or technological breakthroughs,and provide useful decision-making references for the Chinese government to promote the construction of innovative enterprises and collaborative innovation.In addition,the thesis not only enriches the research results in the field of enterprise boundaries and open innovation,but also promotes the connection between organization theory,absorptive capacity theory,knowledge theory,open innovation theory,and technological innovation theory to a certain extent.
