Recently the impact of the global spread of novel coronavirus to the global economic is difficult to estimate, which has greatly changed people's life.We can feel the huge power of the virus. However, due to the availability of data and the impact of long-term research on the new champions league,it is difficult to in-depth,severe acute respiratory syndrome(SARS)in 2003 and the outbreak of the new champions league has a certain similarity.tudying the SARS impact on enterprises to export behavior of current economic governance also has certain reference value, the current global economic recovery has strong practical significance.Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome(SARS),or SARS,was first reported in Foshan,Guangdong province,China,in 2002,attracting widespread attention because of its high infectiveness and rapid spread. The outbreak of SARS in guangzhou and Beijing communication center as the core,to our country people's life and economic development has brought the huge impact, which has left an indelible mark. However, due to data availability in the economic aspect of the study of literature,to some extent, this article research can fill the blank of this field of research.Based on Melitz heterogeneous firm theory and Samuelson iceberg cost analysis,it is found that the outbreak of SARS will,on the one hand, increase the relative price of China's export commodities relative to the rest of the world, and then affect the export scale of enterprises. On the other hand,it will increase the critical productivity of enterprises' export and force the inefficient products and enterprises to withdraw from the export market, which lays a theoretical foundation for the empirical study of this paper.Based on this, this paper combined the detailed data of 5,327 SARS cases in Chinese mainland, the import and export database of China Customs, the annual survey data of Chinese industrial enterprises, the patent data of China and the longitude and latitude data of Baidu API to carry out a rigorous empirical study on the impact of SARS on enterprises' exports. The research is carried out from four aspects:enterprise export scale, export quality, enterprise export diversity and enterprise export duration. In the study of the impact of SARS on the export scale of enterprises,it was found that after the outbreak of SARS,the export scale of trade enterprises near the hospitals receiving SARS patients suffered a greater negative impact, and the trade scale decreased significantly compared with the enterprises in distant regions. The difference in export size between the treatment group(0-5km)and the control group(5-10km)located in the SARS hospital was significantly reduced by 11.12% after the outbreak of SARS.Secondly, after a series of tests such as using different identification schemes, adding strict control variables and restricting samples to continuous export enterprises, the impact of the SARS epidemic on the export scale of enterprises is still stable.Thirdly, the impact of SARS on the export scale of enterprises is heterogeneous, and the impact on private enterprises, air transportation, general trade,non-transit trade, regions with death cases and enterprises in Beijing area is stronger. Finally, the potential mechanism of the SARS epidemic on enterprises' exports may be the restriction of personnel movement and the substantial reduction of enterprises' foreign trade orders. In the study of the influence of SARS on the export quality of enterprises,it is found that in the SARS epidemic, the export quality of enterprises within 5km distance from the SARS hospital has been significantly improved, while the export quality of enterprises more than 5km away from the SARS hospital has not changed significantly. After the outbreak of SARS,the export quality of enterprises within0-5km of SARS hospitals was significantly improved by 1.22% compared with those within 5-10 km.After changing the identification scheme, changing the research samples and adding the control variables, the epidemic still has a significant effect on the export quality of enterprises. The effects of SARS on the export quality of enterprises are heterogeneous, and the effects of SARS on the export quality of enterprises in private enterprises, land transportation, general trade, transit trade and severely affected areas are stronger. In the study on the impact of SARS on the export duration of enterprises,it is found that: firstly, the difference between the export duration of enterprises in the treatment group near the SARS hospital and those in the relatively distant control group after the outbreak of SARS is significantly reduced by 10.03%.Secondly,compared with the export enterprises 15 km to 50 km near the SARS hospital, after the outbreak of SARS,the export duration of enterprises within the range of 2.5 km and 2.5 km to 5 km from the SARS epidemic decreased significantly, while the impact on the export duration of enterprises within the range of 5 km was weak and not significant.Thirdly, the conclusion of the study is still very robust after considering various robustness tests. Finally, the impact of SARS on the export duration of enterprises is heterogeneous.Specifically, the negative impact of SARS on the export duration of private enterprises, air transportation, general trade,non-transit trade, and enterprises in regions with death cases is stronger. In view of the research conclusions of this paper, the following policy suggestions are further proposed: First, the outbreak of SARS will greatly impact the foreign trade of foreign trade enterprises, and the government and enterprises should take relevant measures to deal with it.Secondly,in the early stage of the epidemic, the impact of SARS on the export of enterprises was not obvious. If the epidemic could be controlled in time, the export loss of enterprises would be greatly reduced. In the early stage of the epidemic, the government should intervene in time to effectively control the spread of the epidemic and then avoid potential losses. Finally, the impact of the epidemic on the export of enterprises will not be eliminated with the end of the epidemic, but will have a long-term effect on the export of enterprises,so the government's rescue measures for the export of enterprises should also be extended to a period after the epidemic.
