Research On Farmers' Participation Behavior In Contract Agriculture And Its Economic Gain Effect

The sale of agricultural products is the key to the development of China's agricultural industrialization and the increase of farmers' income.It is also the key to consolidate the achievements of poverty alleviation and prevent the return of poverty.Contract agriculture is an effective way to solve the problem of farmers' sale of agricultural products.In recent years,under the effect of various favorable conditions such as economic development and policy guidance,contract agriculture has developed rapidly.Based on the theoretical analysis and literature research,combined with the survey data,this paper discusses the following three problems by using the method of econometric analysis: In the same economic environment,political environment and ecological environment,what characteristics of farmers are more likely to participate in contract agriculture? Will farmers' sense of economic gain be significantly improved by participating in contract agriculture? Is there any difference between destitute households and non-destitute household in the sense of economic acquisition effect of contract agriculture participation behavior? The conclusions are as follows:First,farmers' participation in contract agriculture is formed under the comprehensive effect of multiple variables.In the same economic,political and ecological environment,and other factors remain unchanged,the gender of the head of household,the education level of the head of household,the family population,the proportion of agricultural income,the cognition of agricultural product price fluctuation,the cognition of contract agriculture,the demonstration of relatives and friends,the training experience,and the social capital are significant variables that affect farmers' participation in contract agriculture.Among them,the gender of the head of household,social capital and the degree of cognition of contract agriculture are the three significant factors that have the greatest impact on farmers' participation in contract agriculture;In addition,the cognitive level of contract agriculture,training experience and demonstration of relatives and friends play a partial mediating role in the impact of social capital on Farmers' participation in contract agriculture.Second,farmers' participation in contract agriculture has a sense of economic gain effect.The economic sense of gain is a subjective feeling based on actual acquisition.Through the empirical study,it is found that the participation behavior of contract agriculture can significantly improve the income of farmers.Further empirical test shows that participation in contract agriculture can improve farmers' sense of?horizontally-realistic? economic gain,that is,compared with the income level of other people in the village,farmers' satisfaction with their own income can be improved through participation in contract agriculture;Participating in contract agriculture can enhance farmers' sense of ?longitudinally-realistic? economic gain,that is,farmers participating in contract agriculture can feel that compared with the income level three years ago,the current income has improved to a certain extent;Participation in order agriculture can enhance farmers' sense of ?longitudinally-expected? economic gain,that is,participation in contract agriculture can enhance farmers' confidence in future income growth.Thirdly,there are differences between destitute households and non-destitute households in the economic sense of gain of farmers' participation in order agriculture.Resource endowment is an important factor in the difference of farmers' income.The empirical results show that destitute households' participation in contract agriculture can improve their income,but the increase is far less than that of non-destitute households' participation in contract agriculture.The participation in order agriculture leads to the expansion of the income gap within the participating groups.On the premise of different income effects,further empirical analysis of contract agriculture is needed.The results show that the participation behavior of contract agriculture can enhance the sense of?longitudinally-realistic? economic gain of destitute households,but it cannot enhance the sense of ?horizontally-realistic? economic gain and the sense of?longitudinally-expected? economic gain.That is to say,after participating in contract agriculture,the destitute households do feel the increase of income,but have no effect on income There is no change in the level of satisfaction and confidence in future income growth.From the perspective of industrial poverty alleviation,contract agriculture can improve the income level of destitute households,but within the groups participating in contract agriculture,it further widens the income gap between destitute households and non-destitute households;in terms of sense of economic gain,farmers participating in contract agriculture have improved their income,and also perceive this kind of improvement,that is,the improvement of ?longitudinally-realistic? economic gain.However,compared with the non-destitute households,the contract agriculture failed to improve the destitute households' satisfaction with their own income in the horizontal comparison,and also failed to enhance their confidence in the future income growth,indicating that under the current situation,as an important means of industrial poverty alleviation,the contract agriculture has encountered the same obstacles as other poverty alleviation measures,that is,it cannot stimulate the endogenous motivation of the destitute households.The innovation of this paper lies in: first,the topic selection and research content have new ideas.It is the first time to study the sense of economic gain of farmers participating in contract agriculture,and use the sense of economic gain as the result variable to investigate the universality and poverty alleviation effect of contract agriculture;secondly,based on the relevant theory and reality,this paper puts forward the concept of "relatives and friends demonstration",studies the influence relationship and effect of many variables including relatives and friends demonstration on farmers' participation in contract agriculture,and analyzes the internal relationship between the influencing factors;second,when studying the participation behavior of contract agriculture,combined with the relevant theory and the actual situation,it puts forward the concept of relatives and friends demonstration This paper studies the relationship and effect of multiple variables including the demonstration of relatives and friends on Farmers' participation in order agriculture,and analyzes the internal relationship between the influencing factors;Thirdly,through the empirical analysis of the differences between the destitute and non-destitute groups in the income effect and economic gain effect of contract agriculture participation behavior,this paper reveals the problems existing in the current industrial poverty alleviation with contract agriculture as the main mode,and puts forward relevant suggestions according to the problems.It is hoped that the industrial poverty alleviation model can achieve more results in the poverty alleviation work with the goal of "consolidating the achievements of poverty alleviation and preventing poverty return".
