Abstract/Summary:
Facing development-forced displacement and resettlement brought about by project construction, ecological exploitation, village relocation, and land transfer during the new-type urbanization period, economically developed regions, represented by Zhejiang Province, mostly build "implanted" urban-mode resettlement communities in towns because of high urbanization and land scarcity. This resettlement method has already reached the “environment” urbanization in terms of natural land, planning modes, spatial patterns, and preset production methods. However, due to migrants’ production and living habits tend to continue rural traditions, significant proportion of migrants lack experience and skills to earn a living in towns, resulting in contradictions or conflicts between migrants’ needs and resettlement communities’ planning and control. This runs contrary to the principle of “people-centered” development, reflecting lack of urbanization synchronization between migrants and resettlement community environments.Fundamental reason for the asynchronous urbanization is that environmental adaptation mechanism of rural migrants is still blurry.Taking rural migrant’s environmental adaptability as the point, this research focus on the construction strategy of resettlement community public space, explores the mutual coordination between migrants and environment in the process of urbanization, providing a theoretical basis for a new “people-centered”urbanization resettlement strategy.Based on environmental behavior studies, this paper analyzes the complex behavior and internal needs of people-in-environment,and then reveals the environmental adaptation mechanism of rural migrants under the interaction of " behavior-space-need".The full text forms the research path through five aspects: " Analyse Theory-Establish Cognition-Reveal Mechanism-Construct System-Propose Strategies ".(1)Analyze interaction between migrants and environment.Starting from the theory and concept of environmental transformation, space property rights, and human environmental adaptability, this research explores the interaction between rural migrants and the environment, and then clarifies the orientation of resettlement community construction from the perspective of rural migrants’ environmental adaptation.(2)Establish a cognitive framework for rural migrants’ environmental adaptation.By summarizing the current major resettlement patterns, this research locates "implanted" resettlement communities in towns with the most widespread problems,in which migrants’ behaviors lead to spatial heterogeneity with multiple tendencies. The research then establishes perspective focusing on migrants’ “rural-like” characteristics, and establishes a cognitive framework for resettlement community’ public space construction.(3)Reveal the environmental adaptation mechanism of rural migrants.Based on the relationship of "space-behavior-need" and the dimension of "production-living",this research analyzes the typical semi-urbanized resettlement community samples, judges the interaction between resettlement community space and resettlement behavior through semi-structural observation, summarizes the complex production and living needs reflected by the different behavioral tendencies of migrants.Based on the quantitative analysis of rural migrants’ needs, the research constructs a “four-quadrant model of environmental adaptability” for rural migrants, and sorts out the internal logic of complex phenomena in resettlement community from the perspective of migrant needs.(4)Revealing the endogenous mechanism of resettlement community public space under the guidance of "need-function" transform.Based on the “four-quadrant model of environmental adaptability”,this research extracts the common needs, differential needs and common non-needs of four types of immigrants with different environmental adaptability, and proofreads them with the current residential community norms, thereby forming a three-level function menu of "basic-expand-potential",and propose the operation and maintenance method of "requirement-function" transformation.(5)Clarify the construction strategy of rural resettlement community public space.Aiming at the widespread and highly complex “semi-urbanized” resettlement communities, from “moderate” planning under production and living guidance,“public space” conforming to environmental transformation, and “semi-public space” revolving around the housing space property rights reset, this research put forward construction strategies, and then takes the semi-urbanized resettlement community renewal as a practical case,to provide theoretical and support for rural resettlement community public space construction. This research analyzes the interaction of migrant and environment through a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods, aiming to rectify the single value of simply applying the “urban community” model in the current rural resettlement community construction, emphasizing the the rural nature of migrants, which plays an important role in the construction of residential environment in the resettlement community,so as to propose a construction strategy for resettlement community public space with the suitability of production and living style of rural migrants.
