With the development of economic globalization and knowledge economy,enterprises are facing increasingly complex internal and external environments,and customers’ needs are diversified and rapid.In order to maintain their competitive advantages,enterprises need to constantly adapt,improve and innovate their existing resources and capabilities to cope with the impact of environmental changes.Innovation is the main driving force for China’s economic development,which can promote the formation of enterprise competitive advantages.Quality is an important guarantee for economic development,which can meet and exceed customer requirements to enhance the core competitiveness of enterprises.Therefore,innovation drive and quality first,as part of the basic policy of Made in China 2025,are of vital significance and role in economic development and the improvement of enterprises’ competitiveness.Therefore,the study of quality management practices and innovation performance has very important theoretical value and practical significance for enterprises to obtain and maintain sustainable competitive advantage.This study takes China’s auto parts manufacturing industry as an empirical sample,follows the research idea of "posing problems-analyzing problems-solving problems",closely around the theme of "how quality management practices affect enterprise innovation performance",comprehensively uses literature induction,questionnaire,text analysis and hierarchical regression analysis,combined with the application of statistical software such as SPSS and AMOS,The research framework of "quality management practice-absorptive capacity-innovation performance" has been established to specifically solve four problems:(1)Dimension measurement of quality management practice and its constituent factors;(2)The impact of quality management practice on innovation performance in China’s auto parts manufacturing industry;(3)The influence mechanism of quality management practice and innovation performance of China’s auto parts manufacturing enterprises;(4)The regulatory role of environmental uncertainty in the impact of quality management practice on innovation performance.This study first uses the literature induction method to sort out and summarize the existing research literature on quality management practice and innovation performance.Secondly,in-depth interviews were applied in 16 case enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region to obtain the measurement of quality management practices and the constituent factors of quality management practices,which served as the basis for subsequent research.Third,combined with quality management practice and innovation performance related theories,a theoretical concept of the impact of quality management practice on innovation performance is established.Based on this concept,a conceptual model and research hypothesis are preliminarily obtained,and absorptive capacity is introduced as an intermediary variable to reveal the impact mechanism of quality management practice on enterprise innovation performance.Fourth,based on the Yangtze River Delta,taking into account the questionnaire survey data of 319 automobile parts manufacturing industries in South China,Central China,Northeast China,Beijing Tianjin Hebei and Western China,the model was modified through structural equation,and finally environmental uncertainty was introduced as the adjusting variable.Through empirical research,it is concluded that the quality management practice based on process construction has a significant positive impact on enterprise innovation performance;Absorptive capacity plays an intermediary role between quality management practice and innovation performance;The moderating effect of environmental uncertainty between quality management practice and absorptive capacity is not significant.Based on the above analysis,this study draws the following four research conclusions:(1)Three quality management practice measures and 10 constituent factors of quality management practice were identified.Take the automobile parts manufacturing enterprises in the 16 parents’ triangle area as case enterprises,form text data through on-site research and in-depth interviews with employees,and conduct text coding analysis and quantitative research on the obtained data in combination with the research of enterprise archives.Compared with the quality management system standards of the automobile industry and the research results of scholars,three quality management practice measures and 10 quality management practice components applicable to the automobile parts manufacturing industry in China are finally obtained.(2)Quality management practice has a significant positive impact on innovation performance.Based on the three dimensions of basic quality management practice,support quality management practice and core quality management practice obtained from in-depth interviews with employees and 10 quality management practice components,this study empirically studies the relationship between quality management practice and enterprise innovation performance by taking China’s automobile parts manufacturing industry as a sample,and concludes that quality management practice has a positive impact on significant enterprise innovation performance.(3)The absorptive capacity is introduced as the intermediary variable to reveal the influence mechanism of quality management practice and innovation performance.This study verifies the intermediary role of absorptive capacity in the process of positive impact of quality management practice on innovation performance in structural equation model,and the intermediary effect is significant.At the same time,it reveals the impact mechanism of quality management practice on enterprise innovation performance.(4)As a regulatory variable,environmental uncertainty studies the impact on the variables in the construction model,and concludes that environmental uncertainty has no significant regulatory effect on the relationship between quality management practice and innovation performance,but has significant negative regulatory effect on the relationship between quality management practice and absorptive capacity,absorptive capacity and innovation performance.The innovation of the study mainly includes the following three aspects:(1)Focusing on the specific industry scenario of China’s auto parts manufacturing industry,in-depth research is conducted on the impact mechanism of quality management practice innovation performance.Firstly,based on the process method,the quality management practice system is constructed,and three measures are proposed to apply to the theoretical model of this paper;Secondly,10 quality management practice components are identified through in-depth interview,which provides reference and reference for the implementation of quality management practice in China’s auto parts manufacturing industry.(2)This paper studies the impact of quality management practices on innovation performance in China’s auto parts manufacturing industry.This research takes China’s automobile parts manufacturing industry as an example,through three measures of quality management practice and 10 constituent factors of quality management practice,proposes a conceptual model of the impact of quality management practice on innovation performance and verifies it,and studies the interaction and effect of quality management practice on innovation performance in China’s automobile parts manufacturing industry.(3)It reveals the "black box" of the impact of quality management practice on innovation performance.From the perspective of resource theory,the practice of quantity management is the capacity process of resource accumulation,management potential energy and kinetic energy conversion.By introducing absorptive capacity as an intermediary and through capacity transmission,we can clarify the impact mechanism of the quality management practice of China’s automobile parts manufacturing industry on innovation performance,and provide corresponding theoretical support and practical reference for the development of China’s advanced manufacturing quality management practice.
