Urban features is a special perception impression of people’s comprehensive perception of the urban environment.As a product of the comprehensive effects of nature,society and economy in the long-term development of cities,urban features have become one of the scarce resources of urban competition under the background of globalization and rapid urbanization.However,in this process,the crisis of urban features is becoming more and more serious.However,in this process,the crisis of urban characteristics is becoming more and more serious.As pointed out in Several Opinions of CPC Central Committee and State Council on Further Strengthening Management of Urban Planning and Construction: "urban buildings are full of chaos such as greed,flattering foreign countries and seeking strange things,lack of characteristics and worrying cultural inheritance".To a considerable extent,this unfavorable situation is attributed to the general lack of social cognition of urban features,as well as the problems of identification difficulty,fuzzy positioning,guidance and control failure in planning practice.To solve this problem,on the one hand,we should rationally recognize that the style crisis is a normal phenomenon in the process of urban transformation and development.On the other hand,we need to understand the space-time phenomenon of urban features in essence and explore the practical operation methods of urban planning.Based on the above ideas,this paper puts forward the subject of taking urban features as the research object,constructs the theoretical framework of urban features with temporal and spatial logic,selects 9 typical cities in Hubei Province as samples,and tentatively puts forward scientific cognition,identification and positioning of urban features and innovative content of guidance framework from the trinity of theory,technology and demonstration.The article is divided into six chapters.Generally,the first two chapters are theoretical research,the third to fifth chapters are technical method research and empirical research,and the last chapter is research summary.The main contents are as follows.(1)Research on Theoretical Construction--to explore the theoretical basis of spatialtemporal logic of urban features(Chapter two).This part mainly answers the questions of "what is urban features".The origin of urban features is that it is a time-space phenomenon in the process of urban development,not a simple material space form.It follows a certain evolution mechanism and development law.Based on epistemological framework of temporal and spatial logic put forward by David Harvey,and with the help of systematics and urban image theory,this study puts forward two perspectives for recognizing the characteristics of urban features: physical evolution and the interaction between subject and object.Urban characteristic features not only coordinate with the development organization of various elements of space and evolve continuously in time,but also reflect the development sequence of urban space,but also interact with the needs of the subject and cognitive aesthetic model.The recognition logic based on these two perspectives is discussed,which leads to the research contents of Chapter three and Chapter four.(2)Research on identification technology-methods,technology and demonstration of urban features identification(Chapter three and Chapter four).This part answers "how to recognize urban features ".Identification of urban features is an important work before cityscape control.At present,the identification and judgment of urban features are mainly through empirical methods.Based on the two cognitive dimensions of physical evolution and the interaction between subject and object,two identification methods of atlas and evaluation are proposed respectively,and the empirical work is carried out by taking nine typical cities in Hubei Province as examples.The third chapter is identification research on physical attribute representation of urban features,and establishes a map description system including three levels: element level,description factor level and data level.Through the study of elements and maps,we have a basic physical cognition of urban characteristic features.The fourth chapter is research on identification of subjective perception in the interaction between subject and object of urban features.It mainly explores the awareness of three types urban subjects(local residents,foreign tourists and expert managers)on the perception preference of urban features and the value based on their own demand.This part collects the perception information of multiple subjects by means of investigation,and finally finds that there are typed schema features in the perception of multi-agent features.On the basis of considering the cognitive differences of multi-agent,build the demand label system and value evaluation index system,complete the evaluation of urban features of nine cities,and use some quantitative algorithms to further converge the temporal and spatial information of urban features.At the same time,consider the dual requirements of physical features,environmental reality and multi-agent value needs,and complete structural refinement of features.(3)Research on control methods--Control and demonstration of urban features(Chapter five).This part answers two questions: "how to optimize control work based on spatial-temporal logic" and "how to use the identification results for control application".Based on the perspective of spatial-temporal logic,cityscape control reflects the value of urban features,which is to reflect characteristics in the way of presenting regional characteristics(spatial)and historical culture(temporal)of the overall style,rather than in the way of creating characteristics.This means that it is not only space control,but also urban features optimization involves the coordination of time and space,subject and control.According to the specific control methods,two control strategies are proposed to realize the coordination of space-time structure and elements of urban features.This paper summarizes technical framework of urban features control,and takes the control in the central urban area of Xiangyang as an example to show control methods based on identification and evaluation from three aspects: feature target positioning,information transmission system construction and management and control implementation guidelines.
