| Rockery is the most prominent characteristics of Chinese traditional garden and the main carrier of poetic and picturesque.The style of rockery has influenced the development and evolution of Chinese traditional garden.Therefore,the depth of research on rockery directly affects the understanding of Chinese traditional garden.At the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty," landscape painting" became the principle of gardening.At present,the rockeries with relatively complete relics and high artistic level recognized by the academic community were built at this time or later.Therefore,it is quite necessary to study the design principle of rockery with " landscape painting" as the starting point.In this study,"landscape painting" refers to the typical artistic conception and ideal model that is deliberately pursued and implemented in each stage of creation when building garden rockery,Which can forms a systematic design method that runs through the source,consciousness,technique,construction process and final goal of creation—landscape painting images are taken as reference,landscape painting methods are taken as form composition methods,and landscape painting philosophy and theory is taken as theoretical guidance.The creation result has the artistic characteristics of Chinese landscape painting.As a guide to rockery construction,landscape painting and its theory can not only become the key clues to study the remains of ancient garden rockery,but also play a positive role in guiding aesthetic appreciation and guiding operation in the design and construction of contemporary rockery.The research consists of three parts.Chapters 2-3 are historical and theoretical studies.By combing the historical literature,clarify the influence of landscape painting in the development and evolution of rockery.The landscape painting as a construction principle of rockery in the historical context is summarized in six aspects: the creation principle of "following the landscape painting ",the artistic realm of "coming up with an accident",the landscape presentation "just like landscape painting ",the artistic style of the ancients’ brushwork,and the tourist experience likes " entering into the landscape painting",pilling stones can be integrated into a landscape painting.This paper discusses the correlation between landscape painting and rockery in creation,and studies the internal mechanism of two-dimensional landscape painting transforming into rockery space by means of iconography,texturing is the key transformation medium.Based on the“word-sentence-chapter”principle of rockery creation,this paper studies the guiding role of pictures,painting methods,painting theory and painting philosophy in each stage,form the framework of rockery design principle under the guidance of landscape painting.Chapters 4-7 are the study of design principle and case study.This paper makes a comparative study of landscape painting and rockery,elaborates four aspects of rockery design principle under the guidance of landscape painting: the design materials can refer to the "words" and "sentences" expression of nature in the landscape painting,and the symbolic landscape unit and the paradigm practice of unit combination;the pictorial style is shown in the two aspects of the ancient people’s brushwork and personality,showing differences through layout and texturing methods;the layout and organization are guided by painting theory and composition,which are embodied in the management of concrete location and the control of abstract structure;in terms of construction techniques,the rockery is built according to the texturing method and has a picturesque momentum,and the integrity is formed through the texturing method.Taking Ji Chang Garden,Pian Shi Shan Fang Garden,Jing Xin Zhai Garden,Huan Xiu Shan Zhuang Garden,Ge Yuan Garden,Yan Gu Garden as the main research cases,this paper makes explanations of the corresponding design principles through image comparison,digital model,comparative research and other methods.Chapter 8 is the research of design method.Relying on Mr.Meng Zhaozhen’s "Six Connotations of Chinese Landscape Architecture Design Sequence Centered on Scenery Supporting From ",this paper studies Mr.Meng Zhaozhen’s theory and practice of rockery by oral history method and deduces "Six Connotations of rockery design sequence under the guidance of landscape painting ",which includes six step: selection of style and temperament,selection of landscape type,name asking of painting,structure arrangement,penetrate dynamic relationship and possible changes.The six steps are linked by linear logic,and landscape painting affects each step as the core.In addition,this paper discusses the practical significance of the design sequence.Guided by landscape painting,it can do the overall control in the rockery creation,ensure the artistic level and effectively reduce the use of rocks,save nature resources,which has ecological value.This research is innovative in the following three aspects: First,borrowing the structural thinking of "character-sentence-chapter" in Chinese literature,the author makes a thorough comparative study of rockery and landscape painting with similar constructive characteristics,breaking through the existing research vision of discussing landscape layout with painting theory and comparing rockery overlapping with texturing pattern,which can become a vocabulary platform for studying rockery heritage and design methods.Secondly,based on the painting theory "vivid charm" and "momentum",the concept of "Animated rockery-piling" is proposed,which is not only the viewing method of rockery,but also the key skill to form its integrity and artistic characteristics.As the unity of texture,organizational relationship and space structure,texturing method commands the creation process,so that momentum can be presented in rockery.Thirdly,the introduction of "design sequence" as a practical method which take "landscape painting" as the center makes the rockery design principle based on historical experience available in the contemporary era. |
