| Harmonious coexistence between humans and nature is an inherent requirement for the construction of ecological civilization, improvement of people’s well-being and quality of life in the new era,and an important foundation for the sustainable development of the Chinese nation. As an important target of the national development strategy of harmonious coexistence of human and nature, forest ecosystems are increasingly prominent in the modernization process of harmonious coexistence of human and nature, and the ecological services such as climate regulation, soil fertilization and carbon sequestration and oxygen release are increasingly prominent, and some of the forest ecosystem services are transformed into the driving force for improving people’s well-being.In 2018,General Secretary Xi Jinping clearly pointed out that a good ecological environment is the fairest public product and the most popular well-being,and that more high-quality ecological products need to be provided to meet the growing needs of people for a better life.To this end,the 14 th Five-Year Plan outline proposes to strengthen laws and policies on green development in order to promote the transformation of ecological benefits into well-being benefits. As a green tool for the country to promote people’s well-being,forestry subsidy policy safeguards people’s well-being while maintaining forest ecosystem services.Northeast state-owned forest areas are not only important ecological conservation areas, but also pilot areas of forestry subsidy policies and areas with obvious distribution of well-being levels. So,how does the forestry subsidy policy affect the well-being of workers in Northeast China’s state-owned forests? Secondly,do forest ecosystem services play the role of "helping hands" ? Finally,is the sustainable development goal of "harmony between human and nature" being achieved? These are all realistic questions that need to be answered. In the academic world, the study of the impact of forestry subsidy policies on the well-being of forest workers from the perspective of forest ecosystem services is still a brand new research field, especially the lack of a research paradigm based on economics and management, and the intersection of multiple disciplines such as ecology and social welfare. In this regard, research on the impact of forestry subsidy policy on the wellbeing of forest workers from the perspective of forest ecosystem services is not only a key to assess the performance of forestry subsidy policy, practical evidence to optimize and improve forestry subsidy policy and an important way to enhance the well-being of forest workers, but also has important theoretical and practical significance to improve academic research and promote interdisciplinary research on forestry economic management, welfare economics and forest ecology. This paper focuses on the scientific frontier of harmonious coexistence between human and nature, and carries out research on the well-being effects of forestry subsidy policies from the perspective of forest ecosystem services through the integration of multidisciplinary theories and the cross-application of research methods.First,on the basis of sorting out related results,we identify the scientific connotations of forest ecosystem services and forest workers’ well-being,and introduce sustainable livelihood theory, viability theory, welfare economics theory, externality theory and ecological economic man theory,so as to build the basic theoretical analysis framework for the study. The current situation of forestry subsidy policy, forest ecosystem services and workers’ well-being in northeast state-owned forest areas is analyzed using macro statistical data, and the conclusion is drawn that forestry subsidy policy in northeast state-owned forest areas is dominated by afforestation subsidies and forest nurturing subsidies, the value of forest ecosystem services is huge, the dependence on forest ecosystem services is high, the gap between rich and poor forest workers is serious, and the subjective well-being of forest workers is low.Second, based on the interdisciplinary theoretical system of ecology, sociology, economics and management,we deconstruct the logical mechanism of the impact of forestry subsidy policy and forest ecosystem services on the well-being of forest workers, and propose the path of "forestry subsidy policy-forest ecosystem services-subjective and objective well-being of forest workers".Again, the research protocol was designed in terms of sample selection and distribution dimensions, variable measurement dimensions, data reliability and validity testing dimensions, and model construction dimensions, and several econometric models such as Multivariate Ordered Logit Models,OLS Regression Models, and Mediating Effects Models were used to test the research hypotheses on the impact of forestry subsidy policies on the well-being of forest workers from the perspective of forest ecosystem services. The results show that forestry subsidy policy not only enhances the subjective well-being of forest workers in the five dimensions of physical conditions, safety, health, social relationships and freedom, but also has a more significant effect on the objective well-being of low-income forest workers, and also plays a positive role in driving forest ecosystem services,i.e.,the replenishment effect of forestry subsidy policy can enhance the positive impact of forest ecosystem services on the well-being of forest workers, and forest ecosystem services play a mediating role in the "macro to micro" pathway of the relationship between government policy regulation and forest workers’ well-being.Finally,based on the above findings,we propose recommendations for optimizing forestry subsidy policies that are conducive to the enhancement of forest ecosystem services and the well-being of forest workers. |
