A Study Of The Literature Of The Members Of The Dong Lin Party Opposition Group In The Late Ming Dynasty

This paper takes the members of the antagonistic group of Donglin Party in the late Ming Dynasty as the research object.After clarifying their characteristics and inheritance,this paper makes an in-depth and objective exploration of the membership,writings,friendships and academic ideas of the antagonistic group of Donglin Party,and on the basis of these,makes a thorough and objective inquiry into the core of the paper.The title is to systematically study the literature of members of the antagonistic group of Donglin Party.Generally speaking,the study of a group’s literature mainly consists of three parts:literary thought,literary creation and literary activities.Its logical logic is that thought is the basis of creation,and activity is to further interact with society on the basis of thought and creation.Specifically,Donglin Party is the ideological basis of Cheng and Zhu’s Neo-Confucianism,the style of retro-classicism and the activities of Party struggle and association.In order to keep a balance with the study of Donglin Party literature,this paper also studies the literature of Donglin Party’s antagonistic group from three aspects:the theory of literary thought,the theory of literary creation and the theory of literary activity.This paper mainly combines comprehensive demonstration with case study in order to have a comprehensive and specific grasp of the object of study in both general and details.As the research on the literature of members of the antagonistic group of Donglin Party has not attracted enough attention in the academic circles,it has more research value and necessity.The following chapters are introduced:The introduction mainly clarifies the concepts involved in the research object,analyses and summarizes the significance of the research,summarizes the relevant ancient literature and research works,and on this basis summarizes the difficulties and methods used to overcome them in this paper.The first chapter is an investigation of the members of the antagonistic group of Donglin Party.To clarify the historical stages of the group,and the differences and links between them.After understanding the group as a whole,this paper makes a textual research on the specific members of the group,and identifies which members are in different historical stages,and how these members participate in the party struggle through different groups in different periods.On the basis of this study,clarify the nature of the group,the root cause of the party struggle,and the transformation of the struggle objectives and ways in different stages.The second chapter mainly studies the existence of the works of members of Donglin Party’s antagonistic group.As the historical image of this group has always been negative,their works have not been valued and protected,even intentionally destroyed,and the survival situation is not optimistic.By investigating and searching for their surviving works,we not only listed a list of documents as detailed as possible,but also made a case study of the representative rare documents in order to highlight their academic value.Finally,we demonstrated and analyzed the reasons for the existence of the works of members of Donglin Party’s opposition group.The third chapter mainly studies the communication of the members of the antagonistic group of Donglin Party.Through the interpretation of their surviving works,especially the poems,songs and works,it combs out their complex network of communication relations and various deep-seated factors that generate these relations.In order to change the previous understanding of the members of the antagonistic group of Donglin Party,and present their complex human nature and life trajectory.The fourth chapter mainly studies the ideological basis of the members of the antagonistic group of Donglin Party and the literary tendency formed on this ideological basis.The research shows that most members of Donglin Party’s antagonistic group have been deeply influenced by Yangming’s theory of mind since the middle and late Ming Dynasty,and on this basis,they have gradually formed the tendency of spiritual literature.Through the study of their growth environment,literary contacts and career opportunities,the paper analyses the reasons why they gradually obey Yingyang Ming’s theory of mind,and then tend to identify with spiritual literature,and makes a concrete demonstration with a case study.Chapter Five,based on the research of Chapter Four,makes an in-depth study of the spiritual literary thoughts of the members of Donglin Party’s antagonistic group based on Yangming’s theory of mind.This paper studies the characteristics and causes of spiritual literature in their literary works.They put their literary creation in the whole literary landscape of the late Ming Dynasty,but highlighted their unique characteristics of close interaction between literature and politics,showing that the members of the antagonistic group of Donglin Party originated from the literary trend of the times,but different from the literary trend of the times.At the same time,the research field is extended to their response to the whole era.Faced with the fierce party struggle and turbulence,their poems and essays reflect their concern for the times,their helplessness and their desire for success and career,which help to restore their true personality and destiny under the background of the times.Chapter 6 mainly studies the literary activities related to the struggle among members of the antagonistic group of Donglin Party,such as association,publishing,concocting books for the struggle and imperial examination system.They either use literary activities to help the party struggle,or exert certain influence on literature through the party struggle.They show the close relationship between literary activities and the party struggle,and analyze and clarify some of the party struggle events and the underlying causes.On the basis of the research in the first six chapters,the last part summarizes the necessity of studying the literature of Donglin Party’s antagonistic group.On the premise of close connection between literature and Party’s contention,parallel research should be carried out on both sides of the party’s antagonistic group,which can not be neglected.Lack of research on either side will affect the peace of the history and literature ecology of the late Ming Dynasty.Hence,it is not conducive to a comprehensive and in-depth study of the history and literature of the late Ming Dynasty.Appendix 1 is the study of Jiao Fang,the first person in the biography of the Ming Dynasty,aiming at re-examining this group,which has long been in a negative position in history,objectively presenting their previously unknown historical information by exploring and restoring Jiao Fang’s real historical image.Appendix 2 belongs to Chapter 2.Because of its large size,it is placed in Appendix 2.
