Previous research on party dispute in the late Ming Dynasty.foucusing on the dispute of Donglin and eunuch party. However, this kind of research can not reflect the whole picture of the partys' s dispute comprehensively and objectively.Because at that time, except for some courtiers who had a clear and consistent standpoint,Many courtiers did not stick to the views of the parochial prejudice, but adjusted their standpoint in response to changes in the situation. As a result,it also affected the development of the political situation in the late Ming Dynasty to a considerable extent.Wang Yongguang is a typical figure of this kind of “neutral courtier”.Wang Yongguang(1565-1639),Twenty years of scholars in Wanli, was born in Changyuan of Henan. He was“like two people before and after ”in the party dispute at the end of Ming Dynasty. At the beginning of his official career,he was similar to Donglin in terms of the dispute over the country's foundation and the use of demoted officials,However,he was eventually impeached because he was close to the Zhejiang courtiers. At the beginning of the Tianqi,he was honest and upright as an official.Later, because he and Donglin have different views in“Guihai check”,He resigned again. In the five years of Tianqi,he was used as the Minister of the Ministry of war because of the repeated recommendation of the eunuch party. While praising Wei Zhongxian,he also defended Dong Lin and was forced to resign. In the early years of Chongzhen,he was appointed the minister of the Ministry of officials because of Donglin's recommendation. However,he was sharply opposed to Donglin, and then he cooperated with Zhou yanru and Wen Tiren, which led to the downfall of Donglin's cabinet, and he actively planned to shake the “imperial reverse case”.finally he was dismissed because he was involved in the conflict between Zhou and Wen.The change of his standpoint from“neutral and impartial”to hating Donglin is not caused by his exclusion from Donglin, but by his own choice and Donglin's prejudice.Due to his hatred of Dong Lin in his later years, most history books have a bad evaluation of him. However, this evaluation is not objective.Taking Wang Yongguang as a case,re-examining the party disputes at the end of the Ming Dynasty, will not only help to comprehensively understand the mutual compete and influences of political forces with very different positions, but also help deepen the multi-faceted and multi-angled understanding of the actual operation of the system at the end of the Ming Dynasty?the individual and the party?the ministers and the supervisors and other issues.
