methods of Chinese culture’s eastward expansion are numerous and diverse, not only through inter-state dominance. The cultural dissemination produced by the exchanges of envoys, and there is no lack of cultural exchanges and fusions due to personal contacts between literati. The Korean peninsula’s long-term acceptance and study of Han culture laid the cultural foundation for Han culture to spread eastward to Joseon during the Imjin Japanese Rebellion. The Imjin War was a seven-year(1592-1598)regional war involving Ming Dynasty,Joseon and Japan.Suzerainty-vassal relations and consideration of the security of their own borders sent troops to aid.The outbreak and continuation of the war had a great impact on all aspects of Ming Dynasty,Joseon, and Japan, and the feudal rule of the three countries was shaken to varying degrees. It is worth investigating that cultural exchanges that should have been neglected during the war were caused by the flow of a large number of Ming troops to aid Joseon during the Imjin War.This article takes the Imjin War as the historical background to study the eastward spread and influence of the Chinese culture in Joseon, which was produced by the aid of the Ming army in this period.Because “Chinese culture”involves the wide range of content, the“Chinese culture” of Joseon during the Imjin War studied in this article includes the beliefs of Guanyu Belief,Yangming Thought,Ji Xiao Xin Shu and historical novels. This article is composed of three parts。The first part is the introduction. It mainly elaborates the purpose and significance of the research of this article, introduces related research trends in the academic circles at home and abroad,as well as the research methods and innovations of this article.introduction, and conclusion. The second part is the main part, which is composed of four chapters. The first chapter mainly discusses the background of the Chinese culture’s eastward expansion into the Joseon during the Imjin War.First,a brief overview of the political and cultural relationship between the Ming Dynasty and the Joseon before the Imjin War.The acceptance of Chinese characters,Confucianism, and Chinese books on the Korean peninsula was the cultural background of the Chinese culture spread during the Imjin War.The establishment of the relationship between Joseon and Ming Dynasty was not only an important political condition for the Ming Dynasty to send troops during the War,but also the political basis for the introduction of Chinese culture during the Imjin War.Secondly, during the Imjin War,the Chinese culture spread to Joseon was mainly produced through the aid of the Ming army. Therefore, the number of the Ming army aided to Joseon in the Imjin War and the number of Ming soldiers left after the war were sorted out,and a brief overview of the Ming army left during the Japanese rebellion. The activities of this article pave the way for the later exploration of the spread and development of Chinese culture. The second chapter focuses on the acceptance and inheritance of Guan Yu Belief and Yangming Thought in the Joseon. This chapter begins to study the specific content of the Chinese culture’s eastward expansion into the Joseon during the Imjin War.This chapter begins to study the specific content of Han culture spreading eastward to Joseon during the Imjin War.Important research was carried out from the cultural connotation of Guanyu Belief,Yangming Thought and its spread and development in Joseon. The first is the study of Guanyu Belief. It first discusses the spread of Guanyu Belief in Joseon, and then analyzes the transition process of the Joseon’s acquiescence and acceptance of Guanyu Belief, and then explains the process of Joseon’s inheritance and evolution of Guanyu Belief. The second is the study of Joseon’s re-recognition of Yangming Thought during the Imjin War.Yangming Thought was introduced to Joseon before the Imjin War,and was rejected and criticized by New Confucianism scholars of Joseon at the initial stage.By discussing the active preaching of Yangming Thought by the aided Ming army during the Imjin War,it explores the re-understanding and reflection on Yangming Thought of Joseon. The third chapter focuses on the eastward expansion and development of Ji Xiao Xin Shu and historical novels in the Joseon. This chapter firstly studies the spread and development of Jixiaoxinshu in the Joseon. This chapter is the first study the dissemination and development of Ji Xiao Xin Shu in Joseon.During the Imjin War,due to the lack of national defense awareness and weak military capabilities of Joseon, the battle was lost. The Ming army aided and applied the Ji Xiao Xin Shu to Joseon and produced positive effects, which enabled Joseon to have a sense of defense and military capabilities. Both have improved, which in turn triggered the development of the Ji Xiao Xin Shu and military books by Joseon.Secondly,it summarizes the popularity of Ming Dynasty historical novels in Joseon after the end of the Imjin War.During the Ming Dynasty, there were great developments and achievements in novels, and historical novels were one of them. However,in Joseon before the Imjin War,the historical novels exaggerated and adapted historical facts to a certain extent, who worshiped Zhu Zixue had prejudice against it,so that Joseon rarely read and created historical novels. The outbreak of the Imjin War and the influx of a large number of Ming troops gradually made Joseon value military capabilities and culture, which broke the Joseon dynasty’s prejudice against historical novels. The fourth chapter explores and summarizes the influence of the Chinese culture’s eastward expansion into the Joseon during the Imjin War.Based on the previous research,I elaborated and summarized the influence of the Chinese culture to the east and the development of Joseon during the Imjin war.One is the influence of the introduction of Guanyu Belief and the succession of Joseon, which is the enrichment of the belief culture of Joseon. The second is the reflection of Joseon triggered by Yangming Thought during the Imjin War,which has a profound influence on the development of Confucianism in Joseon. The third is the spread and development of Ji Xiao Xin Shu and historical novels in Joseon, which actively promoted the compilation of military books and the enrichment of military culture of Joseon. Finally,it analyzes and summarizes the influence and contribution of the series of activities of the Ming army left behind in Joseon during the Imjin War.The third part is the conclusion.By studying the spread and the influence of the Guanyu Beliefs,Yang ming Thought,Ji Xiao Xin Shu and historical novels to Joseon during the Imjin War,the full text of the study is summarized, from the Imjin War itself and the characteristics of Chinese culture. And the significance of the Chinese culture to Joseon, starting from three aspects, drew the research conclusion
