A Study On The Role Interpretation And Singing Skills Of Coloratura Soprano In Richard Strauss's Opera | | Posted on:2023-05-27 | Degree:Doctor | Type:Dissertation | | Country:China | Candidate:K R Qin | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:1525306908468604 | Subject:Music Performance Arts Research (Vocal Music) | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | The opera Ariadne auf Naxos(1912/1916)was composed by the famous composer Richard Strauss(June 11,1864-september 8,1949)and the Austrian poet,playwright and his best long-term co scriptwriter Hugo von Hofmannsthal(1874-1929).This opera is different from other operas of the composer.It is composed of prologue and one act.It is a play in a play.This opera makes Richard Strauss’s modern style,multi-level and different angles of satire show incisively and vividly.The prelude of this opera reflects the view behind the stage,and then presents the opera itself in one act.The ordinary in the prelude forms a sharp contrast and contrast with the sublime in the opera,which makes the contrast impact between the characters in the whole play more obvious and the drama conflict more prominent.I mainly study the role interpretation and singing skills of the coloratura soprano Zerbinetta in this opera.This paper will be divided into three chapters.In the first chapter,I start with the overall overview of Richard Strauss’s creation and coloratura role opera,and then introduce the technical characteristics of coloratura soprano in Richard Strauss’s opera.I will summarize the classification system of coloratura soprano,elaborate the aria overview of coloratura soprano,and finally discuss the technical characteristics of coloratura soprano from three aspects.The second chapter analyzes the plot overview and overall structure of the opera from two different versions of the opera,and then analyzes three aspects of opera music creation:dominant motivation,non-stop melody and halftone harmony.The third section studies the character and music analysis of the main characters.The third chapter is the top priority of this paper.It mainly makes an in-depth analysis of Zebinetta’s music style and its performance style in opera.I will analyze the music style characteristics and coloratura singing technical style in narrator,duet,Quintet and Grand Aria from the role characteristics of Zerbinetta and the relationship between Zerbinetta and other roles.The last section mainly analyzes the three parts of Grand Aria:narrator Aria and Rondo for in-depth and detailed analysis.Strive to comprehensively and from multiple angles to better present the characters of Zerbinetta,so as to benefit more singers who want to sing this role.I use many years of singing experience and singing methods to deeply analyze the coloratura soprano character Zerbinetta in this play,so as to fill the gap in the theory and practice of singing zebinetta in China.We also hope to provide singing materials and theoretical support for singers who sing this role,so as to better interpret this role. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Coloratura soprano, Richard Strauss, Ariadne auf Naxos, Singing skills, Zerbinetta | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
