The Logic Of Cultural Exchange In The Era Of Globalizatio

Since globalization,with the continuous changes in the international political and economic pattern and the shift of comprehensive national strength,isolationism,populism,and trade protectionism have been constantly arising.The undercurrent of "anti-globalization" is surging and the world is undergoing momentous changes unseen in a century.This complex international situation inevitably brings new major challenges to the development of human civilization.People expect to promote connection through communication to reach consensus,but when cultural exchange itself becomes a problem,communication seems to fall into a paradox.In the process of globalization,there are many practical difficulties in the communication between countries,nations and individuals of different cultures.These practical difficulties further incite nationalism and civilizational antagonisms,provoke contradictions and confrontations between different beliefs and values,and artificially exacerbate the tension and confrontation of the international situation.How to find the crux and root causes behind this series of practical difficulties,how to achieve mutual understanding,communication and consensus between different cultures through dialogue and exchange,and how to establish a reasonable procedure to regulate conflicts and achieve social solidarity,so as to break the limitations of the basic values of cultural traditions and lifestyles in which people grew up,have become urgent issues that require in-depth analysis.Habermas pointed out that since the 20 th century,the developed industrial society has been shrouded in a wrong cultural spirit in its modernity process.This cultural crisis is essentially a crisis of Western rationalism.On one hand,the cultural spirit of rationalism has indeed brought tremendous productivity and liberated people from the limitations of nature.On the other hand,rationalism has also caused new human survival predicament.Rationality has become a new alienation power that depreciates human values and suppresses human freedom.It is also the inherent source of cultural exchange conflicts in the era of globalization.The cultural critical theory of Habermas,with the reconstruction of communicative rationality and the rationalization of communication as the core,has opened up a way of exploring cultural exchanges in the era of globalization.Therefore,this paper makes an in-depth and systematic study of Habermas theory of communicative action.Through the analysis of Habermas inter-subjectivity,universal pragmatics,colonization of life world,discourse ethics and deliberative democracy,this paper deeply reveals the critique of modernity contained in it,aiming at systematically constructing the dynamic mechanism of equal dialogue and reasonable communication,and finally provides important enlightenment for the construction of cultural exchange norm system centered on communicative rationality under the background of globalization.From the perspective of the construction of cultural exchange logic in the era of globalization,this paper makes a thorough study of Habermas early theory of communicative action and his later political theory.This paper does not simply retell or introduce Habermas theory of communicative action,but rather provides a reinterpretation of Habermas theory of communicative action from the basic structure,normative foundation and practice path of global cultural exchange logic.This paper analyzes the root causes of the dilemma of cultural exchange in the era of globalization from the perspective of the relationship between globalization and modernity and the relationship between globalization and nation-state,so as to provide the main line of research for this paper to construct the logic of cultural exchange in the era of globalization based on Habermas theory of communicative action.This paper makes a complete summary of Habermas theory of inter-subjectivity,and reveals how Habermas starts from inter-subjectivity and turns to universal pragmatics.This paper also analyzes the internal relationship between language,thought and action,so as to realize the breakthrough of the cognitive framework of subject-object opposition in traditional philosophy of consciousness.The exploration of moral action is incorporated into the structure of intersubjective communication,and the communication paradigm of inter-subjectivity is established.In order to construct the normative basis of the communication subject,this paper further explores Habermas life-world theory and critical theory of modernity,which not only constructs the universal basis of reasonable communication between different cultures,but also lays a theoretical foundation for the exploration of the logical practice path of global cultural exchange.Subsequently,this paper extends Habermas theory of communicative action from the theoretical level to the social practice level,and expands the discourse ethics thought into a kind of discourse ethics and deliberative democracy that is implemented globally,thus provides a solution to the cultural conflict in the era of globalization.Finally,this paper makes a critical investigation and overall evaluation of Habermas theory of communicative action from the perspective of historical materialism.The research of this paper holds that Habermas replaces the production paradigm of Marxs historical materialism with the paradigm of inter-subjectivity communication,and realizes the new scheme of social evolution with communicative action.Although it expands the connotation of Marxs practical philosophy to a certain extent,its theoretical basis is no longer historical materialism,but historical idealism.In addition,in order to promote the unfinished business of modernity and realize the free liberation of human beings,Habermas discourse ethics and deliberative democracy based on the principle of communicative rationality to achieve social progress has abandoned Marxs theory of social revolution.In fact,it has embarked on a reformist path of free liberation through cultural criticism.Based on Habermas communication theory,this paper constructs a theoretical framework for the research of cultural exchange logic in the era of globalization,and highlights the academic value of Habermas communicative action theory in the field of cross-cultural communication.This paper breaks the previous practice of modularizing Habermas theory or researching it in the way of chronicle.Instead,it takes Habermas communicative rationality as the main line,puts Habermas communicative action theory into the analytical framework of global cultural exchange.From Habermas pragmatic theory,modernity theory,discourse ethics and political theory,this paper extracts theoretical resources and theoretical basis that can promote global cultural exchange.This paper explores the practical value of Habermas theory of communicative action,and finally reveals the path of promoting the exchange of different cultures in the current situation of frequent cultural collision,friction and conflict in the process of globalization.
