Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in Jilin Province(hereinafter referred to as Yanbian Prefecture)is one of the 30 minority ethnic group autonomous prefectures in China.Located at the junction of China,Russia and North Korea in the "Golden Triangle" of Northeast Asia,it is a key area for China’s border development and opening-up,and also an important node on the “Belt and Road” with obvious geographical advantages and a significant strategic position. With the introduction of the socialist rural revitalization strategy with Chinese characteristics in the new era,the cause of ethnic solidarity and progress and the society and economy in Yanbian Prefecture have enjoyed rapid development. However, the border ethnic minority villages in Yanbian Prefecture have shown such phenomena as hollowing-out,emptynested,and population aging while the construction of the villages turned out highly “closed”,“ethnic”,and “lagged”.Although the supporting policy of our nation has reached almost every household in every village, the revitalization and development of border ethnic villages is still overcoming great obstacles in the way forward.Compared with villages in other urban and rural areas, border ethnic villages show poorer governance capacity, weaker infrastructure, and slower economic development, which have severely impacted the stability of the geopolitical landscape and surrounding environment. Therefore, for the revitalization and development of border ethnic villages in Yanbian Prefecture and the innovation of the inter-embedded governance of these villages,(i)our society should attach more importance, and(ii)us ethnologists should pay more attention thereto, thus promoting the sustained sense of gain,well-being,and the sense of security of the border villagers.Based on changes brought by the policy of “vitalizing border areas and enriching the people living there” and “poverty alleviation” in the development of border ethnic villages in Yanbian Prefecture, guided by the new era’s "building a strong sense of the Chinese national community","guarding and consolidating the border" and the strategic thinking of rural revitalization, and using the theories of ethnology, economics, sociology, frontier science and other related disciplines, the village l of H city and the village n of a county in Yanbian Prefecture are selected as cases. After a long-term field investigation, the performance characteristics of social participation subjects in daily life are deeply described, and the two villages are compared in social governance, industrial development The differences in cultural inheritance, clarify the action track of positive coordination between Rural Revitalization and the construction of border ethnic villages, strive to solve ethnic problems and promote ethnic harmony, explore ideas and measures for the comprehensive revitalization of border ethnic villages in Yanbian Prefecture under the pattern of economic double cycle development, and realize the era confidence of border consolidation, border security and border people’s happiness. This paper has eight chapters.Chapter 1 is introduction, which mainly covers the background of the topic, definitions of related ideas, theoretical basis, literature review, and research methods.Chapter 2follows the main thread of the formation and development of border ethnic villages in Yanbian Prefecture, describing the evolution of the inter-embedded relationship of ethnic groups over time, and providing a correct understanding of the predicament facing the current stage of rural revitalization and development.Chapter 3 is the explanation of the origin and connotation of the rural revitalization strategy in China and the evaluation of the logical starting point for the goal and value of rural revitalization. From Chapter 4 to Chapter 6,through the comparative analysis of individual cases, the functional role of ethnic communication, exchange and blending is discussed from the aspects of "grass-roots governance, economic development and cultural construction".In the specific research,we focus on the daily production and life style as the main line of description, and further verify the significance of the "three exchanges" as an important part of the thought and theory of the Chinese national community to the revitalization and development of the border areas and the security and stability of the times, and portray a realistic blueprint for the grass-roots governance system, the transformation and upgrading of the modern industrial structure and the protection of cultural heritage in ethnic areas. In chapter 7,addressing problems with the inter-embedded relationship between ethnic groups in the studied villages, suggestions are made for better realizing the vision of rural revitalization, continuous revitalization, and comprehensive revitalization. In the end,the conclusion is draw, and reflections on related research given. It is often said that people’s livelihood is related to public support, social harmony and the success of our cause. In the new round of Northeast revitalization and development strategy, safeguarding and improving people’s livelihood as an important chapter of "rejuvenating the border and enriching the people" is included in the "14th five year plan" for vigorous promotion, and effective social trust has been established with the border ethnic areas. It is necessary to constantly change the thinking concept that emotion is greater than rationality and relationship is greater than the rule of law,and break the thinking mode of relying on other important ideas, policies and paths,The revitalization and development of border ethnic villages will be realized through the economic development and operation laws of ethnic integration and social capital relations.
