Model Construction And Empirical Study On Coaches’ Leadership In China’s Advantage Winter Olympics Events

The improvement of competitive strength of snow events is an important support to achieve the goal of the balance of winter sports in China,and also an important carrier and leading way to enhance the enthusiasm of the masses to participate in winter sports.In the nearly 30 years of development,China’s winter Olympic snow events,represented by freestyle skiing aerials,have made brilliant athletic achievements.Practical experience shows that through scientific training and precise management,China’s winter events can achieve the transformation of “from nothing to something,from weak to strong,and from strong to prosperous”.Grasping and mining the growth rules of these projects will help speed up the development of other similar winter events.This study comprehensively applies trait theory,knowledge-based theory,action learning theory,social identity theory,and social exchange theory,with literature method,interview method,observation method,Delphi method method,questionnaire method,mathematical statistics method and action research method,using a mixed research method that combines theoretical construction and empirical testing,qualitative explanation,and quantitative analysis.With the logical main line of the occurrence and development of coach leadership in China’s winter Olympic snow advantage events,this study focuses on several specific issues such as “what is the coach leadership in China’s winter Olympic snow advantage projects”,“Why is it important?” “How to measure it?” and “How to apply it in practice?”,constructs a theoretical model of coach leadership with localized characteristics,and develops a measurement tool for coaches’ leadership in China’s winter Olympic snow advantage events.After empirical analysis,the study explores the internal structural relationships of theoretical models and their application effects in real situations.The research finds that,(1)The development of freestyle skiing aerial skills in China has gone through four stages as following,the team’s initial stage(1987-1998),the tortuous growth stage(1999-2006),the sharpening forward stage(2007-2018),and the inheriting and opening up period(2019 to now).At different stages,coaches exhibit four distinct characteristics,such as,the coordination or unity of national spirit and individual will,the enrichment and improvement of professional knowledge and practical experience,the consolidation and reinforcement of feedback adjustments in current coaching,and the conscientious interaction of team cohesion in individual growth.(2)Using grounded theory as a methodology,the theoretical model of coaches’ leadership in China’s winter Olympic snow sports advantage events was put forward,which consists of four core categories,such as inspiration,specialty,acting,and balance.Focusing on “source-transmission path-carving” for coaches,it constructed a model framework for coach leadership theory with the path of“consolidating-opening-forming” of coach leadership in four core variables.(3)Based on the qualitative research results and the existing mature research foundation,the leadership survey tool for coaches in China’s winter Olympic snow sports advantage events has been developed.After testing by methods such as Delphi,project analysis,EFA,and CFA,and through pre-investigation and formal investigation,it has finally formed the “Questionnaire on Coaches’ Leadership in China’s Winter Olympics and Snowy Advantage Events”,consistings of 7 basic information items and 21 coaches’ leadership measurement items.The questionnaire has a reliable reliability and validity.(4)Through empirical testing,the study finds coaches’ inspiration and acting ability can become the starting point and foothold for the development and cultivation of coaches’ leadership.Variables such as coaches’ specialty and balance can play a mediating role,and in normal situations,coach leadership plays a certain role in promoting the development of reserve teams in advantage events.The research believes that exploring the connotation dimensions,structural characteristics,and measurement methods of coaches’ leadership can not only provide necessary and urgently needed theoretical and practical guidance for coaches to guide training and competition more scientifically,promote the overall competitive ability of Chinese winter Olympic snow sports teams,but also effectively promote the summary and promotion of successful experience in China’s advantageous sports projects,and accelerate the competitiveness improvement of more snow sports projects,achieving sustainable development of snow sports projects in China.(1)Inspiration,specialty,acting,and balance can be both a source of leadership and an important means of communication.Inspiration is the beginning of leadership,ensuring that coaches do the right thing.Specialty and acting are the foundation of coach leadership,ensuring that coaches can do things correctly and how to do things correctly.Balance becomes a booster for the formation of coaches’ leadership,which can accelerate and enhance the formation of coaches’ leadership.Strengthening coach leadership can help form a spiral of theoretical interpretation.(2)The “Questionnaire on Coaches’ Leadership in China’s Winter Olympic Winter Sports Advantage Events”is reasonable and scientific,and can be used as a tool for measuring and evaluating coaches’ leadership.(3)Coach leadership plays a catalytic role in many aspects of the development of sports teams.For sports teams with different types,stages of development,and competitive goals,differentiated ways of infiltration of coach leadership can be adopted.In the training of competitive sports talents,coaches who have strong ideological and moral standards,deep professional feelings,pursuit of excellence and progress,high professional literacy,outstanding learning ability,good at thinking,and supported and loved by team members should be fully explored.
