| The Outline of the National Medium-and Long-Term Education Reform and Development Plan for 2010-2020 clearly states in the preamble that: a century-long plan is education-based.Bearing the hopes of hundreds of millions of families for a better life,education is the cornerstone of national rejuvenation and social progress,and the fundamental way to improve the quality of the people and promote the allround development of the people.A country is strong before it is strong,and a country is strong before it is taught.To achieve the goal of building a well-off society in an all-round way and to build a prosperous,democratic,culturally advanced and harmonious modern socialist country is of pivotal significance for giving priority to the development of education and raising the level of education modernization.In ancient and modern times,many educators at home and abroad attach great importance to the status and role of the principal in running and managing the school.For example,Mr.Tao Xingzhi believes that "the principal is the soul of a school" and "whether a school is good or not has the greatest relationship with the principal",and the principal is the spiritual pillar of the school.It can be seen that the importance of the principal’s work is not only reflected in the direct impact on the development of students,but more importantly,the impact on the unity and progress of the family,and even the future of the country’s chaos and the fortune of the world.China’s compulsory education schools implement the principal responsibility system.The principal’s comprehensive quality and ability determine the process and effect of school governance modernization.As an important leader and promoter of school development,the principal plays a mainstay role in the modernization of school governance.At present,the research of core literacy is a research field which is paid more attention by the international and Chinese basic education circles.In recent years,the research craze of "core literacy" has been widely popular in China,and domestic scholars such as Lin Chongde have also conducted in-depth research on core literacy.At present,the core quality of the international research principals should also be a concern of everyone.In this context,this paper focuses on the following questions: What is the core quality of primary school principals at present?How to evaluate it? What tools can be used to evaluate it effectively?In this study,a primary school principal core literacy model is constructed,on which the Primary School Principal Core Literacy Questionnaire is developed,and the results of the questionnaire survey are analyzed by using the calculated primary school principal core literacy model.Finally,a case study is conducted to supplement and improve the quantitative research from the perspective of qualitative research.Research methods such as interview,questionnaire,literature research,expert consultation and statistical analysis were comprehensively used in this study.A total of 52 experts and teachers were consulted and interviewed,and 1031 valid questionnaires were collected.Specifically,this paper includes the following four studies and related conclusions:Study 1: The research on the construction of primary school principals’ core literacy model sorts out the main indicators of primary school principals’ core literacy through interviews and questionnaires,providing practical basis and reference for the subsequent construction of primary school principals’ core literacy model.The research sorted out "leading ability","educating ability","educational professional ability","internal and external management ability","character" and "attitude" and other indicators,and the above indicators will be further improved and tested in the follow-up research.On the basis of study 1,this paper further constructs a primary school principal core literacy model through literature research and in-depth interviews with experts.Through two rounds of expert consultation,a primary school principal’s core literacy model with expert validity was constructed,including 1 first-level indicator,6second-level indicators and 20 third-level indicators.Research Study 3: Questionnaire survey of primary school principals’ core literacy Based on the construction of primary school principals’ core literacy model,the self-assessment questionnaire of primary school principals’ core literacy was compiled,and a self-assessment questionnaire with good reliability and validity was obtained on the basis of pre-test,exploratory factor analysis,confirmatory factor analysis and reliability analysis.Through the third round of expert consultation,the weights of each index in the evaluation index system are determined,and the core literacy model of primary school principals is as follows: In the second-order model,x2/df is 2.537,RMSEA is 0.05,where AGFI = 0.929,GFI = 0.950,IFI = 0.972,TLI =0.965,CFI = 0.972,and the values of AGFI,GFI,IFI,TLI and CFI are all greater than 0.9.It shows that this model fits well and conforms to the psychometrics standard,which is also consistent with the theoretical conception of this study.Therefore,this model is finally adopted as the theoretical structure of the core literacy scale for primary school principals.Through the analysis of the survey results of the Primary School Principals Core Literacy Questionnaire(1000 questionnaires were collected,638 were valid,the effective rate was 63.8%),the following conclusions were reached:The average score of core literacy of primary school principals is 4.16.Overall,the core literacy of primary school principals is good,but there is still room for improvement.There are significant differences in the scores of 6 secondary indexes and 20 tertiary indexes of primary school principals’ core literacy.Different background variables(gender,marriage,age,education,professional title,urban and rural areas,salary level,position,tenure,etc.)have significant differences in the core literacy of primary school principals or scores of indicators at all levels.Social support has a positive impact on the principal’s core literacy,and personality traits have a significant positive impact on the principal’s core literacy.Personality traits play a significant mediating role in the relationship between social support and primary school principals’ core literacy.Occupational stress negatively affects the core literacy of primary school principals,and psychological capital has a significant positive impact on the core literacy of primary school principals.Psychological capital plays a significant mediating role in the relationship between occupational stress and primary school principals’ core literacy.Study 4: The case study on the evaluation of primary school principals’ core literacy selected a primary school principal,who is also a front-line teacher.Combined with the index system of specific primary school principals’ core literacy,through interviews and referring to the index system constructed by the research,the case’s core literacy was studied and evaluated,and corresponding countermeasures and suggestions were put forward.This study builds a model of primary school principals’ core literacy,which provides a basis for the evaluation of primary school principals’ core literacy.At the same time,the self-assessment questionnaire of primary school principals’ core literacy is compiled,and the evaluation model is formed,and the empirical research on primary school principals’ core literacy is carried out.This paper analyzes the core literacy of primary school principals by means of quantitative research and qualitative research.Further development of different evaluation tools to evaluate primary school principals more objectively and effectively will be the direction of further exploration in this study. |
