Wind profilers are used for detecting the wind distribution of the atmosphere. It is planned that a network of about 120 wind profilers will be deployed throughout the whole of China by the end of 2020.So, it is important to carry out some methods to improve the quality of data.In this paper, the development of wind-profiler data quality control is mainly presented. Based on the acquired data and related background information, a method for estimating horizontal wind and vertical wind are also presented in this paper, it also gives a quality control metric for the calculated wind, which can be applied to four-or five-beam profilers. Based on the data from Beijing Yanqing Troposphere WPR (CFL-08), some work about statistical analysis was done, then case study examples and explanation between the performance of new and common method are also presented.The results show that the new method can improve the accuracy of wind profile products that is even more significant in non-uniform wind field and non-stable rainfall. It has been shown that it is possible to estimate the horizontal wind in a reliable way with typical profiler geometry under the assumptions that the wind is modeled by a linear wind field; wind is stationary over the sampling region. Although this method can significantly improve the quality of data, it seriously lies on model parameters, so more research is needed in future. As the wind profile radar data by a variety of interference sources of interference, any method can not remove all contamination with one method, so combining different methods to solve the issue better is needed. The lack of precise data to compare with is a bottleneck to improve the performance of data quality control methods.
