~L)~r. 00 ~ THE STUDY ON THE INJURING MECHANISM TO THE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT IN WHEAT UNDER THE CONDITION OF HEAVY METAL STRESS Postgraduate: Cai Xinhua Supervisor Prof: Luo Shishi Ge Cailin (Yangmou Univ., Agric.Co1L, YangZhou, 225009) ABSTRACT In this paper the effect of heavy metal stress to wheat was studied by using the technique of whole dynamic determinating in vivo, wax slicing of captive dissecting , physiologic and biochemical mensurating as well as tracer kinetic ?analysis.and by the experiment of integrating culturing plants under the condition of overmuch heavy metal stress .This study inquired into the effect of three kinds of heavy metal stress to wheat .The main results were as follows: I .The effect of heavy metal stress to growth and development of wheat With the increasing of concentration of heavy metal ,the height and the number of till of wheat decrease fast; The rate offrost injury rise first and then failed .The output and the content of chlorophyll fall very fast. 2.The effect of heavy metal stress to the activity of many kinds of zymes in wheat. With the increasing of concentration of heavy metal the activity of CAT failed ,under the stress of three heavy metal the activity of POD of copper rised apparently in the stress of copper ,and rised firstly and failed then in the stress of cadmium and mercury. And the activity of SOD fail much the same. 3 .The effect of heavy metal stress to conformation and structure of leaf ,root and 70 bud of wheat. With the increasing of the content of heavy metal the length of root and bud failed apparently .The injury of copper to wheat is hardest in three metals .The effect of copper to the number of root is notably. And the effect of heavy metal to the microstructure of root ,leaf and bud existed. With the increasing of content of heavy metal the number of lateral bud decreased too. 4.The effect of heavy metal stress to the transportation and distribution of photosynthate in wheat. The heavy metal stress injured conduction tissue of wheat .So the exporting rate of photosynthate of leaf decreased. The amount of saccharide rise in leaf .The heavy metals stress also could make the rate of accumulation in roots decrease .The amount of accumulation became less and less with the increasing of three heavy metal concentration.
