The Visualization Research of 3D Terrain & Landforms is an important part of Geographic Information System (GISK Digital Photography (DP) and Remote System(RS), and drawing a high realistic 3D graph is an important research project of Computer Graphic(CG). With the development and innovation of Computer Science> Computer Graphic and Modern Mathematics Theory, some entirely new research directions, such as Virtual Reality (VR) and Scientific Visualization(SV), are attracting more and more researchers. Terrain is a complex natural scenery. The theory and algorithm of the Visualization of 3D Terrain & Landforms are problems that many research fields are facing. The problem of the Visualization of 3D Terrain & Landforms can be solved with the combination of theories and technologies of many branches. So, the visualization , reality and measurement of terrain can be solved essentially.3D Terrain with air photos and DEM/DTM data is made by the system. Virtual Reality Technology of 3D Terrain is researched in detail. Algorithms^ programs and results of terrain analysis are provided. All of above functions are developed by OpenGL. With objective oriented designing and programming, all functions of the Visualization of 3D Terrain & Landforms are provided by Component Object Model(COM). So, it is suitable for much more development tools, and it can be applied conveniently to secondary development.
