This paper has discussed actuality and character of the application of GIS technology in geo-environment domain, quested for developing ways of geochemistry information system based on GIS technology. According to demand of urban eco-geochemical research project in Chengdu City, this article has designed and developed Chengdu City Eco-Geochemical Information System (CEGIS) .It is a information system supported Maplnfo platform and VB and using MapBasic as secondary development programming language. Its basic data is constructed by spatial data and attribute data of Chengdu City eco-geochemical research .By selecting appropriate means of constructing database the CEGIS has managed geo-environment information in point included human environment data, air environment data, water environment data, soil environment data, urban geological data. The CEGIS is made for project data share in later work.GIS technology such as shading thematic mapping, geostatistical method, spatial analyzing , is beneficial to analyze project data, gain and manage urban ecology geochemistry analyzed information, and visualize these data.GIS technology facilitates secondary development and coupling function module in information system to help analyzing and judging professionally. GIS technology play an important role .in many steps of urban ecology geochemistry project . For example, by GIS thematic map and overlaying analysis every factor is visualized to administer to sample design of isotope investigation.
