The lake sediments are accumulated continuously, contain plentiful information,and have wide geography overlays, which makes it an indispensable role in the studyof ancient weather and ancient environment. Relatively, there is a great differencebetween the lake sampling drilling and the traditional coring drilling in workingenvironment and requirement. So developing efficient lake sampling drillingequipment is an urgent mission, especially, the drilling platform. According to the recent study, a lake drilling platform has been designed, whichconsists of track chassis,iron frame,buoy, anchor system and the drilling tower. Withthe hydraulic track chassis, the platform can move by itself; the iron frame is made upof five smaller frames connected by bolts; the iron frames are fixed with buoy units,which provide all the buoyancy that the whole platform needs; on each corner of theplatform, there is an anchor equipment, which is used to anchor at lake; besides, theplatform includes a pint-sized drilling tower. Assemble each module of the platform into a unit, and add drilling rigs, mudpumps, drilling pipes and the other equipment onto the platform, then climb up thetruck with its track chassis to transport wholly. After arriving at the lakeshore, theplatform moves down from tuck to lake, and then is dragged to the working site by anassistant boat. After anchoring, the drilling project can be carried out. When the water depth or drilling depth is very low, a single platform is enough.A single platform permits 50m depth in water and 100m in sediment (with waterdepth). When the water depth or drilling depth is above these limits, two or moresingle platforms can be connected into a relative large platform to meet the needs. This drilling platform has some merits as follows: since it has simple construction,does not need to disconnect and connect the modules each time, and can move by, it isvery convenient to transport or change the drilling sites; it weighs light and itsbuoyancy is relatively great; comparing with the refitted drilling boats, it costs less;apart from the track chassis, all the modules' weight are controled in the manpowerscope, therefore crane is not needed; this platform fits not only the water surface oflake, but also the ice surface of lake, swamp and shore.
