The Subjective Situation Analysis Of Scientific Acceptance

Scientific acceptance is one of the magnitude process of theory evaluation, which is part of the main research field of Philosophy of science, besides the study of theory structure and theory confirmation. Traditionally, the study of scientific acceptance concentrate the theory's characteristic itself and seldom be carried on from the cognitive subject point of view. With further research, the subject relative situation has been paid much more attention. However, the research was just underway. On the basis of former research, the thesis tends to continue probing into the discussion of scientific acceptance in subjective situation.The first part of the thesis discusses the connotation of scientific acceptance, subject relative situation and the how to review the relationship between them from the cognitive view. Firstly, the thesis gives the definition of scientific acceptance and indicates that it is a problem for the subject to decide whether to identify or not after theory evaluation. Then gives the different explanations of traditional inductive logic and modern inductive logic so as to better understand the clue of the problem .The second chapter of the first part argues the situation of scientific acceptance, and compare it with context, then discuss the relationship between different inductive acceptance and situation, such as certitude situation and acceptance, strong logical belief situation and probity separate rules.The second part argued the variouable element of subjective situation, firstly, Background element, which refers to the common experience ,accepted theory, specialty background and science spirit, culture tradition as well. In the first chapter, three kinds of background was connected with scientific acceptance, and examples from the history of science is used to make out the influence of each other .secondly the belief element. Belief indicate a kind of stable inner idea state, and it is the evaluation of cognitive subject towards outside world. It can be clarified into metaphysics belief, feasibility belief and simpleness belief. All this belief and its relationship with scientific acceptance was taken into account. Thirdly, the Bayesian evaluation elment. The subject choose to use Bayesian tools which made it a kind of situation that could have effect onthe acceptance by measurement.The third part of the thesis pointed out that rational acceptance behavior should follow the principle of feasibility priori, since it plays an important part of the acceptance process. Though the subjective situation effect the process, it should not go beyond the feasibility itself for feasibility is the core of rational acceptance. Next, situation rational principle. It demanded the cognitive subject take into account of sensitive element of situation, comprehensively combine opposite elements to modulate its allocate. Lastly, the sensitive elements of inner situation should be optimizing as well. Background information, transcendental belief and Bayesian evaluation should combined together to achieve the optimization and conformity, as for the subject to rationally accept a theory.
