In the paper, the species diversity of lichenized fungi in Mt. Fanjingshan in Guizhou province was preliminarily studied. The general situation of physical geography of Mt. Fanjingshan, research materials and methods were introduced in details. Based on the specimens collected, the ecological distributions and geographical elements of lichens in the region were analyzed briefly. The conclusions were as follows:1.The 119 lichen species belonging to 47 genera , 22 families are reported from Mt. Fanjingshan. Among them, 105 species are new records to the mountain, 79 new records to the province, and 2 new records to China: Dermatocarpon intestiniforme (Korb.) Hasse.and Thelotrema similans Nylander.2.There are 4 types of lichens according to vegetal substrate: epiphloeodal lichens (37genus, 79species), saxicolous lichens (17genus, 29species), terrestrial lichens (3 genus, 14 species), foliicolous lichens (1 genus, 1 species).3. The characteristics of vertical distribution of lichens in Mt. Fanjingshan are as follows: â‘ Borad-leaved ever-green forest zone (between 700m and 900m): there are 37 genera, 79 species. â‘¡Borad-leaved ever-green and deciduous mixed forest zone (between 900m and 2100m): there are 39 genera, 106 species. â‘¢Sub-alpine coniferous forest zone (between 2100m and 2570m): there are 18 genera, 31 species. â‘£Sub-alpine shrub and alpine meadow zone (between 2350-2572m): there are 3 genera, 5 species.4. The geography analysis shows that there are 32 species of East element (34%), 18 species of Pantropical element (19%), 2 species of Arcto-Alpine element (2%), 4 species of Arcto-Boreal element (4%), 10 species of Boreal element (10%), 6 species of Temperate element (6%), 4 species of Oceanic element, 7 species of East Asian-North American Disjunctive element (7%), 1 species of Endemic to China (1%). The lichen flora of Mt.Fanjingshan has two major elements, East Asia element and Pantropical element and it also corresponds with North American flora. The further study of the lichen flora is much more important in phylogenetic evolution of lichen species. In the paper, the isolation and culture of mycobionts and phycobionts were also...
