Robots are playing important roles in many fields in modern society, with a lot of virtues for its special applications, the bio-robots would be used in the future. So they are taken more seriously than ever. Enlightened from the phenomenon of the gecko's free movement on the wall, we attempt to control a robotgecko via nerve system. The thesis began with the research on the structure of gecko's brain. After the stereotaxic atlas of the Gekko gecko was constructed, the basic structure of the brain is studied. After photographs of gecko brain sections were taken, a visible 3D brain of the Gekko gecko was established with the computer.Because the microelectrodes are important in the bio-experiment, we developed an economical method for the machining of tungsten microelectrodes by electrochemical etching. It has been proved that the method is feasible and reliable. The performances of these tungsten microelectrodes were checked too.At last, the somatosensory cortex in a Gekko gecko was studied using microelectrode. The evoked potential signals were recorded, and the experimental results are discussed.
