Six kinds of artificial air constant flux valve were designed innovatively. Two-dimensional numerical simulations were performed on them. The RNG k-s turbulence model and SIMPLE scheme based on unstructured grid system were adopted in numerical simulation. We got the pressure, moment and other data of the valve by computer simulating at different valve opening and inlet velocity. After analyzing the results of 2-D CFD, we picked one kind as our ideal model, on which three-dimensional numerical simulation and experiments were performed. The pressure loss on the valve and the moment brought by flow to the valve relative valve opening 9 were obtained by simulating the flow of different valve opening angle. By analyzing the computational results, we got the optimal model. In experimental investigation, we specially designed a test-bed equipped with hot wire anemometer, got the coefficient of pressure loss, moment on valve and other data.Lots of experiment combined with CFD results done, we designed a suitable control spring needed by the valve, which means we succeed in the valve designing. The numerical and experimental results show that: It's feasible to design and optimize the control valve by CFD numerical simulation. Moreover, the results of numerical simulation are coincident with experimental investigation. The artificial air constant flux valve has a satisfying precision. They can be applied to engineering.
