Checkout counter, as the front of the supermarket and the customer contacts, is playing the count for much role in the supermarket management. Therefore, building-up the mathematical model making use of queuing theory knowledge to carry on the analysis and optimize, enabling the system to achieve the best operation condition, has the extremely important economic value and the practical significance.This article introduces several kinds of elementary theories which in the queuing theory each other independence but made is connected: Markov process, Poisson process, birth-death process and so on. And in this foundation the queuing system especially M / M / n /∞/∞queuing model is carried on the system introduction. This article apply the thought and method of queuing theory to the management of checkout counter of supermarket, and build up the multi- server and waiting M / M / n /∞/∞queuing model corresponding to checking out service system of the supermarket. The article collects and reorganizes actual data of 13 times of whole day in non- holiday and holiday of the checkout service system of some large-scale supermarket in Chongqing, and carries out demonstration analysis. The paper also makes use of the Maple software to compose calculation procedure, has gained the corresponding target parameter.
