Setting up a geologic parameter, which can describe the character of a reservoir exactly, rationally, scientifically, is the core and purpose of reservoir description, the key of reservoir mathematical stimulation and dynamic prediction, the base of knowing the reservoir impersonally and truthfully and developing the reservoir efficiently and accurately.Taking the Xishanyao Reservoir in Baka Oil Field as an example, the paper analyze the sedimentary microfacies and sedimentary model of the researched area comprehensively, using different theories and techniques of many subjects including sequence stratigraphy, sedimentary, petroleum geology, reservoir geology and so on, aiming at the reservoir geological character, on the base of basic geological study; and get a new recognization and result of the character of fracture distribution and its influence on the reservoir and oil-water displacement, and of the formation and distribution of remaining oil, aimed by the macro-µcosmic experimental data of the reservoir sandstones and by the modeling experiment of oil-water displacement. The paper divide the Xishanyao Formation oil reservoir into 10 sub-layers ,using the comprehensive method of contrasting and dividing layer, with the emphasis on the sedimentary cycle and the multiwell control. Then the four sendiment microfaces, which include front sheet underwater distributive river course, mouth bar, delta front sheet sand, are recognized in the research area .And the sendiment microfacis of delta fan front sheet underwater distributive river course is the most and foremost. The study of the reservior indicates that it is characterized by the low-pore and low-permeability, and the reservoir pore space is occupied mainly by the intergranular space. The character of reservoir present the lower ability of accumulation and penetration. There are several fractures in the area, which hardly bear the ability of accumulation, but act as the main penetrating passage. The varied fractures in the reservoir have the different influences on the effect of oil-water displacing. At last the reservoir is classified and assessed comprehensively, and is divided into three groups, with the I & II reservoir being the oil-gas enriched area, according to the average depth, pore, permeability, oil saturation and so on, using the cluster analysis, connecting with the formation and the concentration rule of remaining oil.
