The paper is a study on the molecular systematics of the Elateridae (Coleoptera: Polyphaga: Elateroidea) in China. The paper gives a general review of the history and present study of the Elaterid- ae at home and abroad. The phylogeny and evolution of 8 species of Elateridae was analyzed by molecular experiment. We used the protein enzyme K method to get the genome DNA, studied the partial 28S ribosome DNA by PCR sequencing technical, analyzed these data with software (including ClustalX1.83, MEGA3.1) and discussed the kinship and class status of Elateridae.Manicuring the data, we have got 823 bp long DNA. The nucleotide acid composing is like T,C,A,G,16.7%,29.8%,19.2%and34.3%. G+C: 64.1%,A+T: 35.9%. The G+C containing is evidently higher than the A+T.There are 110 singleton sites, 596 constant sites, 215 variable sites, 529 zero-fold degenerate sites, 52 two-fold degenerate sites, 173 four-fold degenerate sites, and 102 parsimony-informative sites.108 had aberrance in the 274 amino acid sequences, with the variance ratio of 39.14%. All amino acid were found in all the species. The follows are of higher content: Arg14.67%, Ser13.77%, the lowest is Met0.50%.The phylogenetic trees of Elateridae construted by UPGMA,NJ and MP method showed that Chiagosnius suturalis maculicollis (Candeze),Chiagosnius suturalis maculicollis (Candeze) and Chiagosnius obscuripes (Gyllenhal) belong to Chiagosnius Fleutiaux.
