This paper gives a certain way of streep lamps energy saving and monitor system by fully utitizing GPRS wireless communication, GIS and SMS technology. The system collects real-time data, sends data to internet by GPRS network, shows the street lamps' status parameters such as voltage, current, power on the map by conbinating GIS, locates and alarms when finding unsual data, and sends warning information to designated phone by SMS. The system realizes the intelligent remote monitor, scheduling and management.This paper carries out the research work on subject for study based on GPRS/GIS/SMS. The system consists of the control unit, communication network, monitor center and map. The control unit consists of controller 7188XA, GPRS module, energy device, lamp, adapter, power supply etc and completes the function of sending and receiving information. The GPRS network completes the interactive information, including upload and download data. The monitor center completes the function of communication, data saving, making reports. The map completes the function of displaying, locating, buffer analysis, alarming, SMS etc.This paper is divided into five parts. first, the status and problems about domestic and abroad street lamps energy saving and monitor; second, explanation of GPRS/GIS/SMS; third, detail description of structure, function and implementation of the system; fourth, an experimental display of the system; the last, summary and outlook of the whole paper.
