Research On Geoprocessing Service Application Based On ArcGIS Server

The rapid development of Web Service has brought new opportunities for the development of the WebGIS applications. Due to various limitation of single structure, traditional WebGIS application mainly focus on provision of geographical data service instead of providing geoprocessing functions such as spatial analysis functions in the desktop application. Web-based geoprocessing services make user easily access to and use spatial analysis whenever they want without place and GIS platform constrains. Geoprocessing Services truly implement evolution of WebGIS application from"data sharing"to"function sharing", and solve the problems of traditional WebGIS application.ArcGIS Server is a server-based GIS software platform for web application.Using ArcGIS Server can quickly carry out server configuration and centralized management, and achieve multi-user operation of web application with large spatial analysis functions, which has become preferred development platform of WebGIS application.The thesis illustrates the theory basis of geoprocessing service and modeling methods in detail, analyzes the architecture and supported service function and management of server objects of ArcGIS Server, mainly researches on designing and publishing of geoprocessing service , and combining with buffer analysis specific example, illustrates the methods of implementation of geoprocessing services based-on ArcGIS Server. Finally, exploring industry application of geoprocessing service based-on ArcGIS Server, and making a deep study of application in airborne geophysical interpretation.According to the research, Geoprocessing Services has been proved to be effective method of geoprocessing implementation in the web application. Thus to quickly building up web application based-on geoprocessing service, solving the problem of function sharing,and providing solution for industry application in WebGIS architecture through ArcGIS Server platform.
