Starting with geologic research, this paper integrates researches on multi - disciplines such as geology, seismic, well log and dynamic analysis. Choosing monogenetic sand body as the basic research object and based on the study of oil-sands connectivity, the refined reservoir geologic model is reconstructed. Moreover, it is studied the remaining oil potential distribution, together with the analysis and quantification of the oil-sands potential distribution and scale, as well as the identification of adjustment units. In order to better understand the water-out law within the oil sands, new methods and technologies are sufficiently applied to increasing the accuracy of interpretation in water-out zones.Based on basic principles of sequence stratigraphy as general guidance,"cycle comparison, hierarchical control"as the main approach, marker beds as the main controlling factor, the refined stratigraphic correlations are undertaken, thus forming the basic stratigraphic framework. Seismic-to-well tie is utilized to carry out the study of structure characteristics. Also, with analysis of coring well data, the sedimentary model is reconstructed in the unit of blocks and the provenance direction is subsequently identified within the working area, as well as the plane distribution of layered sedimentary microfacies in target zone. From aspects of petrological characteristics, microscopic pore structures, lithology, rock physical properties and heterogeneity within reservoirs, as well as the plane distribution of the reservoir and rock physical properties, are all studied and analyzed. By using 3D modeling technology, the faults model is established and so are the stratigraphic framework model, sedimentary microfacies model and the reservoir physical property model. This paper utilizes the interpretation results of conventional water-out strata logging as well as special water-out strata logging, to study the water-out law and conclude its controlling factors. Besides, on the basis of microfacies analysis, combined with the results of perforation, production, water absorbing, cumulative water injection, cumulative oil production, the favorable residual oil zones are comprehensively analyzed.
