In order to prospect the high-steep structure in foreland thrust belt, complex mountainous area seismic techniques are developed for oil exploration since the year 2000. In 2005, 3D seismic exploration aimed at the Kelasu structural belt were carried out in Kuqa depression of Tarim basin. The implement of complex-area geometry design, selection of shooting parameters, surface investigation and modeling, and assistant of high-precision satellite photograph had get fruitful achievements in this project. The technique series include the following methods, geometry design basis on elimination of acquisition footprint, shooting parameters selection by lithology and velocity of shooting stratum, 3D investigation and modeling according to characteristic surface, and integration assistant of high-precision satellite photograph in design and construction. Compared with the former methods, the above mentioned techniques have an obvious improvement. The application of this technique series in seismic exploration in high-steep structure oil field in Tarim basin has achieved satisfied results. After this research, the acquisition technique series of complex mountainous area has become more mature by our researches, and will become an important support for the oil exploration of Tarim basin.
