The Research And Design On The Data Collection Of Network Digital Surveying And Mapping System

With the rapid development of computer and mapping technologies, people are no longer satisfied with the traditional mapping mode, the separation of surveying outside and mapping inside. Network digital mapping mode achieved the functions of the coordinate data and attribute data real-time collection, map editing and wireless date upload, it brings mapping into the mode of internal and external integration and also it brings great convenience to mapping work. Network digital mapping system mainly consists of data collection terminal and server-side. At data collection terminal, we use PDA combining with GPS-RTK and total station as hardware to go on surveying outside, and upload the electronic draft date to spatial database of server-side correspondingly through the communication function about GPRS of PDA. At server-side, we use the well-established spatial database producing by ArcGIS Server to issue map service and it provides the service for users.This paper involves the development of embedded modules, wireless communication, RTK technology, spatial database management and access technologies. At first this thesis proposed the mode of surveying and mapping based on network and introduced the methods of data collection. Followed designed the function of data collection terminal and introduced relevant technologies.Then designed spatial database by using Visio software. Finally this thesis designed the data collection terminal based on the Pocket PC mode PDA simulator of windows Mobile 5.0 operating system. It achieves the functions of using total station and RTK as collector to collect coordinate dates, transporting the datas to PDA to do the collection of spatial data and map editing, finally loading the datas to network digital mapping server through GPRS. This collection system divides the survey area by natural surface features, reduces the edge matching data of the map , achieves the―measured is showed‖and recording of the attribute data in real mapping spot, avoids the missing area and wrong measure of terrain, reduces the omission of attribute data and greatly improves the efficiency of digital mapping . The data collection system can be widely used in large scale topographic survey,pipeline survey, cadastral survey and other fields.
