The coal and gas outburst is one of the hazardous factors in the coal mine. So it is very important to know the coal and gas outburst degree of the different area and forecast the coal and gas outburst area and intensity to take targeted measures, prevent coal and gas outburst and reduce the losses caused by coal and gas outburst .Therefore it is very necessary to take scientific measures to forecast the coal and gas outburst intensity. This paper forecast the gas contents of Xin'an coal field based on the gas-geology method and geodynamic zoning method by researching the law of Xin'an coal field gas-geology. At the same time it selected the key factors of the coal and gas outburst area forecast by researching the law of Xin'an coal field gas-geology and coal and gas outburst characteristic, then based on the coal and gas outburst mechanism and energy assumption defined the critical value of gas contents and press by experiment and the critical value of the sandstone roof of the coal seam by geodynamic division method of Russia, after that forecasted the Xin'an coal field B1 coal seam coal and gas outburst area by the key factors and its critical value. On the other hand selected the key factors of the coal and gas outburst intensity forecast by researching the law of Xin'an coal field gas-geology regularity, coal and gas outburst characteristic and the result of coal and gas outburst area forecast such as gas contents, coal seam thickness, sandstone thickness of the coal seam roof within 20 meters and work type; then researched the artificial neural network and its training functions; after that founded the forecast model of BP artificial neural network, and forecasted the coal and gas outburst intensity of Xin'an coal field B1 coal seam based on the forecast model, the current law of Xin'an coal field gas-geology and the gas contents forecasted.
