In this thesis, three kinds of cationic softeners with acyl structure and long carbon-chain(RP-1, RP-2 and RP-3) were prepared by the reaction of stearic acid, hydroxyethyl diethylenetriamine and ethylenediamine. The principal component of RP-1 is a weak cationic surfactant with long carbon-chain contained imidazoline amide. The main principal component of RP-2 is an imidazoline cationic surfactant with long carbon-chain. The dominating component of RP-3 is an imidazoline cationic surfactant with the long carbon-chain ester group. Three kinds of high effective softeners were obtained when the three components were remixed with triethanolamine ester salt or didodecyldimethylammonium. These softeners were applied to the softening finish of the fabric and showed excellent application results.Furthermore, three types of Gemini cationic surfactants were prepared through two step reactions. The saturated fatty acid (Lauric acid, Myristic acid, Palmitic acid and Stearic acid) reacted with N, N-dimethyl ethanolamine to prepare tertiary amine with ester and long carbon chain firstly. Then the products reacted with 4,4'-Bis(chloromethyl)-1,1'-biphenyl, 1,4-dibromo-2-butyne and 1,4-dibromo-2-buten respectively. The structures of the products were characterized by IR, NMR. As cosmetics antimicrobial, MBC and MIC values were tested. The results showed that the Gemini cationic surfactants have good antibacterial and sterilization effects to Gram-positive bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria, and the required MBC and MIC values were low.
